It has dawned on me that my daughter will also be celebrating her 15th birthday in April! We will be there 7th - 10th April, though her birthday is not until 30th April.

In light of the 15th Birthday Celebrations would anyone at DLP be interested in this, or do they get hundreds celebrating birthdays all the time and really don't care? :rotfl:

Is it worth me mentioning anything to TPTB, and if so who would be the best person to contact?

Just a thought... :cloud9:

Disney will be delighted that you are using this opportunity to celebrate your daughters birthday.
Go to City Hall on the day you've decided to use as the celebration day and get a birthday badge.
Hopefully your DD will have a wonderful time :goodvibes

Can you do this on a day that isn't technically their birthday then?

Now I have to decide which of the 4 days would be best, perhaps Easter Monday would be better than Easter Sunday? Or could she wear the badge two days or more anyway ;)

I've never heard of a birthday badge before. It's my daughter's birthday tomorow (Sat) and we arrive at DLP the following Sun. It's also my friends son's birthday a few weeks later. We choose the trip to be near both their birthdays.

Can you tell me more about it? Is it a badge for them to wear for the day or is there more to it?
Also we have pre-payed for the character teaparty but want to upgrade it to the birthday teaparty with characters. Is it allowed? What would the difference's be?
Thanks :)

they didn't have the birthday badges when I was there on my B-day; they didn't even know what I was talking about.
sorry...

Not sure about DLP but the birthday pins are deffinatley in use at WDW.

If they are doing it, it is not important whether it is the actual day or not. I know someone who got they daughter a birthday pin everyday for two weeks of their WDW trip. Not sure I agree with doing that but on one day of your break if it's technically not the actual day I don't see a problem.

Good luck. And even if they don't do the pins, why not get t-shirt printed that says it's my birthday and I'm celebrating it in disneyland or simular.

When we visted last year we all had T-Shirts with a picture of Mickey or Minnie saying Ibbs-Shaw Florida Tour 2006 and we got lots of attention from the characters pointing at our shirts.

We printed them ourselves but www.zazzle.com has some excellent looking shirts and hoodies that we will probably get for our christmas trip.

Either way your daughter will be spending her birthday celebration at Disneyland, even without a pin, t-shirt or anything else, it will still be the most magic birthday ever.

I'm not sure she has realised she is the same age as DLRP, she knows it's the 15 Celebration though, so maybe she is just too shy to point it out? Oooh I've just googled and it appears the park opened on 12th April 1992 - 18 days before my daughter was born!

Thanks for all the tips :)

What a coincidence ~ my DD will also be 15 the same day! :yay:

I can remember watching the opening ceremony on TV despairing I still had a month to go as my DD wasn't due until May 12th ~ luckily she came early! :)

They didn't do birthday badges when we went in October for our DD's 4th birthday either

Its our 15th Wedding anniversary. My DH took me to DLRP and Paris for our first wedding anniversary:love: . I will be lucky if I get a card this year:rotfl:

Do you mean the 12th or the 30th?

If the 30th, then doesn't that make them Astrological twins or something? Or do you have to have been born in the same place and/or the same time?

My daughter was born in Basingstoke, Hampshire, 00.08am :)

Sorry folks I was sure you could get a birthday badge. Looks like I imagined it :confused3

Further to this I decided not to rely on obtaining anything once we arrive. I gave the idea some thought and suggested to my daughter that perhaps we could print a tee shirt saying she was celebrating her 15th birthday too. She said she would prefer a badge to wear, so I trawled the Internet in the hope of finding something, since even if I could find a 15th birthday badge in the shops, it would likely say "15 Today" which we didn't want.

This proved to be harder than I imagined, all the badges I found seemed rather small, and only produced in large quantities (we only want one!). I sent off a couple of emails yesterday and received a reply from Andy at http://www.bigdogbadges.co.uk offering to produce one badge by the end of the week for £5 inc P&P!!! He has been so helpful produced various samples as a suggestion, using my daughter's favourite colour green, and her favourite font. :yay:

Here is the one we have settled on:

Should be around 77mm (biggest I could find) and we're looking forward to seeing the final result!
:cheer2:

There is of course always the singing Mickey Mouse Birthday Cake hat, that you can buy in the stores in DLRP, believe me that'll definately get her noticed. My niece got me one last year and insisted on pressing the button to start the song everytime it stopped, I got 1 or 2 funny looks but lots of smiles too.:goodvibes

When DS has worn a birthday badge we've always found that the CM's chatted to him and wished him Happy Birthday, I'm sure your DD will have a great day.

Well, it's not really her birthday until 30th April, but we will be celebrating it anyway, not sure if the hat would be appropriate? :santa:
