15th anniversary gift ?

My BIL and his wife are having a 15th wedding anniversary party. We've never been to an anniversary party. It's at their house. What kinda of gift do we give... money, dinner giftcard...personalized item?

ps and budget friendly gift please. we have also have 3 other b-day gifts to buy for the same weekend so budget friendly $50 and under ideas please

I'd probably just go with a $25-50 gift card to a restaurant, unless you *know* there is something specific they've been wanting.

I've never been to an anniversary party either, except my aunt and uncle's 50th, and they specifically said "no gifts." I've never gotten an anniversary gift for anyone, other than to offer to babysit so the couple could go out to celebrate. Heck, DH and I don't really exchange "gifts" for our own anniversary. He gets me flowers, I bake something for him, and we go out for the evening. I guess in my mind, it's not really a gift-giving occasion, but a personal celebration.

I agree with PP. I've never heard of anyone having an anniversary party, unless you are celebrating a 25th or 50th anniversary , and even then it's usually someone else that hosts the party for you. To me, anniversaries are to be celebrated as a couple.

I would just bring a card and maybe a bottle of wine or chocolates.

Bottle of wine from their wedding year, if they are drinkers.

Otherwise, 15 of something - 15 candles, books, chocolates, whatever.

I agree with other posters - who throws themselves a 15th Anniversary Party? Reminds me of the Curb Your Enthusiasm where they threw a going-away party for themselves.

Thank you both. I thought I was the only one lol! This is the 1st anniversary party I've been to. I've heard of others ahving huge parties for 50th and those are usually held in a Hall. I think we will go with a giftcert for their fav resturant.
