Thanks for the compliments Michelle-your family is AMAZING as well. :grouphug: We had a great time at PFTS with you and all the other Dis'ers we met there! I'm excited to see the video now!

With Vegas, I emailed you lots of info and tons of pics. We are foodies where ever we go, so lots of food pics at the really good restaurants. Freemont Street Experience has a great Christmas show going now-definitely a must see. We saw Mystere and it is a good show-strange, but good-you will understand once you see it. Bellagio Gardens, Volcano at Mirage, Pirate ship show at Treasure Island and the overhead floats on the Rio casino floor are not to be missed. Prime at Bellagio and Andre's at Monte Carlo are excellent culinary experiences. If you have time, take a helicopter tour of hoover dam. Have a great time! :dance3:

:thumbsup2
BTW, anyone have any tips for Vegas? I just booked a last minute trip for Jordan & I. (dirt cheap, I might add! ;) ) We're going to stay at the Bellagio and see Cirque's KA & Mystere while we are there! :yay: It's her Christmas present this year. :santa: I wanted to go back to WDW, but this will do, too! LOL! :rotfl:

The Party for the Senses video is up on YouTube now! :thumbsup2 It's not the best video, but you'll get the idea of what it's like at the party. LOL! :rotfl: Like I said, I was running around all night, and the video is kinda wobbly! (it may or may not have had something to do with the wine by the end of the night... :rolleyes1 ) I hope you enjoy watching! I'll get better video next year!!! :goodvibes

Viva las Vegas!!! I have never been but two of my friends just went there and LOVED IT. They saw Ka and said it was unbelievable!! When are you going, I can't wait to hear your take of it all :)
Nice videos...i didn't realize how dramatic the PFTS was...with the intro before walking in and everything..awesome!

Sorry guys! Crazy busy week again! :headache: I'm working on the video right now and should have it posted in a few...

...hang on! :surfweb:

SO jealous! I miss Vegas! I actually lived there for a short time and DH & I went for his bday this past April. My tips would be: Freemont Street! We spent a lot of time shopping (souvenirs are cheaper down there) and hanging out. Drinks are cheap too. Depending on how long you are going for you can buy a 24 hour unlimited bus pass for the Duece bus that'll take u to Freemont and back and if you get tired of walking one way you can bus it back. My fav casinos: NY,NY & The Paris. And you must buffet! Best ones are at Luxor and we had a great one at Harrahs. I hear the Paris brunch is awesome too but the line was too long! Sorry to ramble- if you need any other help just ask!

I'm off to watch your PFTS bids!

I'm a Vegas guy. Here's my tips for survival:

1). Don't lose your rental car
2). Try not to end up naked in the lobby
3). Sometimes, rolling a 7 is bad

Ok, now for the fun:

1). Mystere rox! You'll love it.
2). Lance Burton is great
3). Eat at Smith & Wolensky's if you can. Try the Crab appetizer. Bring your Visa. You won't have enough cash.

Have fun! :cool1:

very cool video! I went to vegas 1 time with my dh. My tip is that you can not get a cab to stop on the street like in every other city. You have to get them at the hotel or any place you are visiting.
When we went into the castle casino (don't remember the real name) I kinda thought it may be like disney. How naive can one person be. Oh well. Have fun. You should check out that resort that last seasons winner of hell's kitchen won the restaraunt in. Red rock something or other.

Take the $2 bus that runs up and down the strip. I think it's $5 for an all day pass. They also have a new type of pass that combines bus and monorail access, but I don't have details on that. I would have ridden the monorail more, but it was pretty pricey at the time... they've since reduced the rates. It also isn't convenient to get on and off, which I think is partially by design... hotels/casinos want you to stay in their buildings.

My wife and I were there last July (114 degrees in the shade) and went through all the different hotels, but after the first few, we realized that the games were all identical. I did play a bit of poker at the Mirage one night... that was a different experience.

Have fun... we're heading to the world on Friday!

Great videos Michelle!:thumbsup2 You have really opened my eyes to the VAST number of 'extras' that Disney has. I never would have thought to investigate stuff like that. And your TR from last Christmas... with all of THOSE extras... WHEW!

Is it really going to snow that much up there? We are getting LOTS of rain here in Indy.. cold, yucky rain... I'd rather have snow!:santa:

Cool videos. They came out really nice. It's snowed here in CT today, not much though just a dusting. Where are you?

Vegas baby!

I've got lots of Vegas tips! Just let me know! ;)

DH & I have been twice in the past couple of years. We plan to go again this summer. It is so beautiful at Christmas time! The decorations are fantastic! We were there for Christmas two years ago.

We also saw Mystere when we were there and really enjoyed it!

You two will have so much fun! What a great Mother/Daughter trip! :goodvibes

Love the video's. I'm so jealous i would love to go to vegas, maybe 2009.

You will have to do a mini trip report for us.

Well, now you've done it - I HAVE to go to PFTS next year now! Those videos are amazing :yay:

Mmmmm - it might not be Party for the Senses, but I hear Epcot Candlelight calling.........anyone for Hot Chocolate?

We sat in winter coats on our honeymoon 10 years ago at the Polynesian Luau... hot cocoa would have been appreciated. I remember one of the dancers stopped and asked us if we were cold... his statement after that? Me too. Hilarious.

Yeah. I remember that guy. He was nearly nekked. If I remember right, he was one of the guys who juggle with flames at the end of the night.

But, I'm looking forward to some cocoa and snow on Main Street in exactly five days! The weather sounds like it's going to be pretty nice this weekend, so I don't think we'll need it to stay warm though... :santa:

Michelle,

Hey stranger! Glad I could find my neighbor after my long DisBoard hiatus!
I'm so glad you got in an extra trip. We are going through withdrawal...which is why I'm lurking again!:thumbsup2

The trip report is awesome...you're gonna get me in trouble with DH...i feel the urge..

And Katie's been whining about Disney...

who knows?

Looking forward to the next installment...and I will catch up with you on PM sometime soon!:grouphug:

I have a tip for Vegas. Eat lunch at Todd English's Olives (it's right next to the walkway that leads to Caesars, Bally's, Paris). If they have the butternut squash ravioli in brown butter sauce...get that. With a glass of Caymus Conundrum. Trust me. :cloud9:

Join the player's club. When I did at Bally's, I got a coupon book good for the various resorts in the Harrah's group. I was able to use a coupon for the Rio's seafood buffet. I'm sure Bellagio should have something like that, and it can't hurt to earn comps while you gamble. If you gamble. :)

Hmm, you can visit the VooDoo Lounge at the Rio and get a drink inside a fishbowl. Might I recommend the Witch Doctor? Here's an artistic shot of the drink with my Virtual Magic Kingdom avatar "flat" thrown in:

Also, go to the Tix4Tonite places. They had discounted tickets for the Star Trek Experience and Madame Tussaud's, along with assorted other shows.
I know you will probably purchase the Cirque in advance, but if you were going to do other stuff that required admission, that's the place for you.

I know of the ones that are near the giant Coke bottle and M&M World stores, near the MGM Grand, but there are other locations around the Strip. I'm sure the Bellagio can help with that.

I've only been to Las Vegas once, but I loved it! I saw Penn and Teller (with the half priced tickets from the booth) at the last minute, but my friend had booked Cirque's "O" for us. We had good food, good fun, and I was enjoying every minute of it. Even in frigid January. ;)
