Would be be worth asking for special request like a room on a certain floor at the Contemporary Resort or will I just get whatever is available at the time. I would like to request a floor not on the bottom level and wonder if its possible to request it in advance?

You can make your request now. As everyone will tell you requests are not guaranteed but not wanting to satay on the bottom level does not sound like a big one.

Yes, make your request now. I believe you can attach it to your reservation. (I've always had a TA do this for me.) I'd request "highest floor possible". I love the CR! We've stayed there 3 times.

Yes, you can call Disney and add room requests to your reservation. Rooms are assigned roughly 5 days out, you can put in your room requests at any time. Now or later, doesn't matter. Room requests aren't guaranteed.

A common room request at CR is "upper floor." If you have a TPV room, some people request an odd number room so you can lie in bed and see the MK.

You can always make requests, but there is no guarantee it will be fulfilled regardless of how far in advance the request is made. Just call and have your request added to your reservation. By bottom floor I am guessing you are booked in the Garden wing so you could request to be on an upper floor. If you are booked in the CR tower, rooms start on the fifth or sixth floor; there are none on the ground floor. You can make more than one request, but if being on an upper floor is extremely important, make it your only request.
