1500 SPG points plus teachers discount

Hi,
I have reservations for Dec 15 - 23 with the teacher's discount.
Does anyone know if I can also use the 1500 SPG points for 1/2 off
(5 nights max I think) too? Would that make my room $65 a night or
would it replace the teacher's discount (which would be a waste of
points obviously).

I'm 99% positive you can't get an additional discount on the teacher rate. I believe the 1500 SPG points offer applies only to rack rates (full price).
