30 minutes after DH left work tonight the place he works was hit by a tornado in Oklahoma City. Thankfully, no one on the next shift was hurt. He has not talked to his boss yet so he does not know what he is to do tommorro. He saw his building damage on tv and it looks bad. At least 60 % of the roof is damaged and the office building may be totally gone.

What a time to loss a job.

Sorry to hear what happened. Thank the good Lord your husband and the others were not hurt. That is what's important. Not easy to do initially, but keep positive thoughts and take the rest from there. Everything will work out.

Sending some prayers and good wishes your way.

I couldn't agree more with what Otimon said. Hopefully your husband will have some positive news when he goes in to work tomrrow. My prayers are with you.

Yeah, it is a bad time to lose a job.

I am glad he and his co-workers are alright though.

Thank goodness everyone was alright! PD is on the way for positive news on his job for your DH! :D

I'm so glad your DH and all his co-workers are okay!! I'm sending positive thoughts for good news today. Hopefully no jobs will be lost because of the damage.

I'm so sorry. I hope your husband has good news today. Where does he work? I saw a bank that was literally gone and the GM plant looks pretty bad, too. My fingers are crossed for you. So glad that he wasn't hurt. I'll keep your family in my prayers.

The same tornado missed our house by about 5 miles. It is so weird that it followed the same path as the one a few years ago. Oklahoma isn't the place to be in the spring, is it?

DD's dance recital is at Westmoore High School on Sunday. Sounds like it missed that school this time.

How are things now? I sure hope that no one loses their job over the damage from the tornado.

Please keep us posted.

Good luck with this situation. Let us know what happens.

Our governor was on television a while ago. He says they are going to have some options for businesses (including small business owners) to help them get through. They don't want this to impact our economy in Oklahoma. Things are rough enough already. My county and one other are going to be declared disaster areas. They are estimating that the cost of damage will be at least $100,000. I'm sure it will be more than that.

My SIL's parents live in Moore. Their house is okay and they are fine - we knew that last night. He is a local dentist. Unfortunately, his office got hit. I didn't know that until this morning. My mom drove to Oklahoma City to take her boyfriend to the doctor and she said the damage is extensive and a lot like 4 years ago, just not as broad. I haven't ventured out yet. They are asking people to still stay away unless they live in the area or have a reason to be there.

They keep breaking in on television talking about threat of storms this afteroon and this evening. That happens when you live in "tornado alley". I just feel for the people who are trying to salvage what is left of their belongings. When you've lost your roof, things won't hold up well in the rain. :(

So sorry to hear of the trajedies happening in your area. We are praying for everyone in those areas. Keep your spirit up and look to God for strength.

{{{{{HUGS}}}}} to you. I sure hope your DH is back to work soon. Glad he didn't get hurt tho!

DH (dear honey for 11 years +) does not know about his job yet.
His boss was not even able to get back to the office last night. He was told not to even go in today. He will call tommorro. So far we can only see what happened to the building by the tv videos. BTW, he works at Southwest Electric. GM plant is about 1/2 mile he said and the RV place that was hit is even closer.

Tonight I found out on these boards that OKC was hit again tonight. According to the tV it was very close to his apartment (he lives on 16 and it hit 53 ) .

I live over 100 miles away. We had a hail storm today around 530 pm.

I am know praying for my student that mentioned that they were going to Tulsa tonight around midnight. I hope they are not between Tulsa and OKC right now.

Sorry I did not get back with an update. DH does still have a job. The building of his office also has a very large window now, hehe.
When I saw the pictures of the damage, it looked worse than I thought it was. Where he works, one storage building down, over 60 % of the roof of the building his office is in was ripped off along with a few bent beams and a boat found its way into the general managers office in a separate building.

The room which DH desk is at was not hurt at all. So he was able to work a couple of days the next week. A generator was used for electricityand porta potties were installed. Reconstructer is still in process.

We are very happy he still has his job along woth others at the plant. DH said that at his plant they rated the tornado to be a F4. I think the strongest tornados are f5.

Hopefully we will not have anymore bad tornados in Oklahoma.
It is amazing that no one was hurt form this one.

Good news. I'm glad to hear that everything is going okay for you.

Good news update, Tigger. Glad to hear things look better than they did at first. And thank God no one was killed.

Enjoy your WDW!!!!
