I am including Universal restaurants in this report.
The Coffee House / Cafe / Deli at Gaylord Palms while nice looking with friendly service has a pretty bland Ham and Cheese sandwich. The Choc Chip cookie was great.
Being from the West Coast we do not have Bob Evans restaurants. I tried one and it was good. Nice home cooked food! :)
Mama Della's at the Portofino Bay Hotel had great service and a nice menu to choose from. I had Chicken Parmasaen and it was excellent as was the salad.
Finnegin's at Universal Studios was a pleasent enough place. I tried the Scotch Eggs. These were quite interesting but very rich. Wouldn't order them very often. The Celtic Chicken Salad was one of the best Salads I have had anywhere.
Lombard's Landing ( Now called Lombard's Seafood Grill) was a wonderful place. What a great ambiance. It is sort of like eating in a place Captain Nemo would design. I had Fish and chips which were good and a very nice cole slaw. Service was great.
I had lunch at the Garden Grove at the Swan. I really liked that room. It is casual but pretty and nice feeling. There was a good menu to choose from and I had a great salad and a Ham and Chees wrap that was nice. You could actually taste the ham and the cheddar instead of it tasting just like lunchmeat.
Jiko at the AKL was quite interesting. This was my most expensive meal. I Started with the beef rolls which were great. This had a banana relish with it that was odd but I kept eating! I had a salad with a nice dressing and flowers on it. The flowers didn't have much flavor. I had the filet over mac and cheese with mushroom ragout and greens (also with flowers). I am one of those who really prefers my Filet and steak left alone. No marinade, no bernaise no anything but A1. This was really good though. Interesting flavors that combined well. Service was very good though a bit more formal and less "fun".
Lunch at Pizzafari was fine but not anything great. The Pizza is decent.
Dinner at Pepper Market food court for a wet burrito was great as usual.
Lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern was great. It was so hot outside and cool in the restaurant. A bit noisier than in the past. I had salad and a great hamburger. They do not come with raw onions so I asked for some. Who ever loaded the plate understood that I liked onions and they were good ones too. Service was really good.
My Birthday Dinner at 'Ohana was great. I told them not to send out any of the chicken wings as I don't like them and being alone I figured there would be enough on the lazy Susan. They sent out two bowls of fried dumplings!!!! I ate almost all of them. The salads and everything were so good I didn't have much room for meat. The Pork was not as good as in the past though but still flavorful. I got two pineapples with caramel sauce. :)
Lunch at Sci Fi Dine is was good. I had the BBQ Chicken breast and smoked gouda sandwich. It was really good. I love the atmosphere here so ordered desert too.
The Fish and Chips at ABC commisery were pretty good but it sure is not something to try to eat out of a little paper box like they give you. This place has such nice architecture it is too bad the have ruined it with loads of TV's blaring ABC commercials.
My last day at Epcot I had PS for Rose and Crown. The menu didn't have alot I was interested in but I figured I could have Fish and Chips. Since I had them the night before I passed by the Rose and Crown and went over to Akershus which I love and missed on my last trip. The new set up works pretty good and has pros and cons. All the good cold stuff was there and I got plenty of that. Then you order your hot items from the wait staff. You can still eat all you want but you have to order it. The bad part is you can't just try a little to see if you like it. They bring you a portion and if you don't want it, it is wasted. The good part (which out weights the con) is that the food is prepared fresh and was of much better quality. I had the ground beef and Pork and beet meat ball things ( can't pronouce or write the word). They were really good. I also tried the excellent Pasta with mushrooms.
I will always go back here and I don't eat fish!
I had a free night and no place planned to eat. I ended up trying the Concorse Steak House. I had another filet in some ragout with bernais sauce. I should know better. It was good but still not my style. The bread there is wonderful though very messy. I had a Capuccino mousse that was very good. Service very good too.
My last big meal was my first visit to Tony's Town Square. What a pleasent place that is. I really liked the feeling. I ate inside not in the sunroom which was very nice looking as well. I had the spaghetti with HUGE meatball. The marinara sauce is nothing to write home about but it was good and pleased me. The salad was nice as was the crouton!!! ;)
The only meal I was disappointed in was my breakfast at Boatwrights. I was very ealry and so it was not busy at all. Service was great but when my order came out so fast I knew it was not fresh cooked. The egg over medium was fine but the bacon was barely warm as were the potatos. They were still great potaots though as I like onion and bell pepper in mine. It just was a bit disappointing.
Had a great time. Ate well and didn't gain any weight!!!!!!:bounce: :bounce:

Sounds like some one did a little eating on their trip. Great choices. I'm glad to read a positive review on the Sci-Fi Cafe, which is my favorite.

I might have to think about going back to Tony's Town Square. I did'nt have a bad experience my first time, but defently not as good as you.

Great Reviews

I have always had good to excellent food at the Sci Fi Dine inn but as you can tell from my reviews it is not easy to offend me with food. I like evrything from Filet and some of these new age foods I am trying to Chef boi Are Dee raviolis!!! I love the Sci Fi and would love to put together a bit longer film for them to show in there.
I have read so many conflicting reviews of Tony's but figured it is something for me to form my own opinions on. I can see where a lot of people would be disappointed in the spahgetti. It is not a complex recipie. I like many kinds of sauces and this one happen to hit the spot that day. :)

Really enjoyed your reviews. Great to hear so much detail about the changes at Akerhaus. And Happy Birthday!!
