We have been to Disneyland Paris, but the boys weren't that impressed with Disneyland - they loved the studio's though. I am getting round to the question of which park tickets to buy.

We are going to Orlando at the beginning of September

It's a tricky one - I know there's Epcot at disneyland orlando but I'm wondering if we should just buy the 4/5/or 6/park combo tickets and miss out disney world resort. We want to go to Busch gardens as we're travelling up that way the first week from Miami and then spending 2 weeks in Orlando

Any advise welcome - we will be there for 14 days - just how many parks can you comfortably visit in 14 days?
confused lol Many thanks Bettina

All of them! :goodvibes: From what you say though, I guess I would suggest Busch, Sea World, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and Disney's Hollywood Studios for you. I can't imagine missing out the Magic Kingdom though! :(

I agree...

Maybe Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach waterparks at Disney?

Animal Kingdom has 'Expedition Everest' that shouldn't be missed, and your boys would like 'mission space' at Epcot, but there aren't really any other big rides at either park. Magic Kingdom has Rocky Mountain Railroad (or somehting like that) and Splash Mountain - but they are tame compared to some of the things at universal / islands of adventure etc

You'll have a great trip if you don't do much disney, but as said above - a trip to Florida would not be the same without visiting the Magic Kingdom for me!

Once my boys got to that age ( now almost 16 and 19) they loved Universal Islands of Adventure and to this day, that's still their favourite park. Next was Busch Gardens for the coasters. We usually buy the Flexticket plus which includes both Universal parks, Wet 'n' Wild, Aquatica, Sea World and Busch Gardens. It also gave us free transport to Busch. Admittedly, I did drag them to a couple of Disney parks but sadly they feel they're too old now:sad2:

I'm sure they'll have a ball whatever you decide.

just to clarify:

Disneworld in Orlando comprises 4 major theme parks, 2 waterparks, and a few other things..

the 4 theme parks are:
-- The Magic Kingdom (the equivalent of disneyland)
-- Epcot
-- Disney Hollywood Studios
-- Animal Kingdom

each of the above is a complete park on its own, each with rides and attractions...

in addition, there are the 2 waterparks: Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach

you might want to read up on these parks a bit to have an idea of what is on offer before you make a decision as to what tickets to buy..

At that age and based on what you have said I would think you should absolutely go for Universal/Islands Of Adventure i.e not Disney (world)

As you are there for 2 weeks though you are in reality probably going to do Disney so maybe Hollywood Studios is the best Disney park for the boys. Large parts of Epcot are probably going to be too boring for them and Magic Kingdom will be "for girls" :goodvibes.

Animal Kingdom - might not be too bad (particularly if they like animals) although if you are doing Busch Gardens you probably dont really need to do both.

Although in 2 weeks you can pretty much do the lot - including Seaworld.

Agreeing with the above post, but personally I think Animal Kingdom and Busch Gardens are different days out for me. We do the animals at Animal Kingdom, and Busch Gardens is a rollercoaster lover paradise! If your children like rides, they will love Busch Gardens!

Personally speaking I would say that there is plenty in all of the parks - Disney included - to cater for all age ranges and adrenalin levels. Are you comfortable letting them go off and do their own thing or will they have to stick with you throughout?
My DD (12) is a thrill seeker and loves the Universal parks, but that doesnt stop her making a bee-line for Splash Mountain, Mission Space, Test Track, Everest or Tower of Terror when we go to any of the Disney parks.
Also try Old Town on the 192. It has an attraction called SkyCoaster and really seperates the men from the boys :goodvibes

I have 2 boys aged 15 and 17 and they love all of the parks. Do they like the big rides - not all teenagers do? I would not rule out EPCOT it is one of our favourites to do!
Please remember that it is your holiday too so don't just go to the parks that appeal most to your sons. As someone said earlier do a little research about the parks and figure out the sorts of thing that you would all like to do together. I would recommend getting a copy of the brits guide as it is always helpful - especially for a first visit.

Thankyou for all your advise - we have been looking at the parks - and at the moment we're thinking to do the 6 park combo

Univeral Studio's
Universal Islands of adventure
Aquatica
Seaworld
wet n wild
Busch Gardens

Then we were thinking that when we're there if we decide we really really want to do Epcot etc we could buy tickets depending on how much money we had left etc.

Is it possible to buy tickets when we're there?

PS we are holidaying for 3 weeks - arrive at Miami - Key west - evergaldes - west coast - busch gardens - then 2 weeks of theme park mayhem, so I don't mind going with what the boys want in the last 2 weeks as the first week - is more for me and hubby.

The boys love theme parks and the rides etc. the younger ones are 50 inch in height so hoping they can go on most of them.

Any more advise will be gratefully received

One option for a touch of disney if you are there in September is to go to Mickeys halloween party at Magic Kingdom (MNSSHP)

You can get in from 4pm on a party ticket and it's open til 12 am.

Great atmosphere and it is cheaper than a one day ticket for disney - costs approx $55 each. First party is 13th September.

You buy tickets online at the official wdw website.
