One thing to consider is the difference in management of the two venues. CG won't let you have a menu tasting and they seem to be pretty set on certain aspects of what they offer - SRUalmn may be able to offer more advice there, or you could read her Planning Session trip report!
One reason I'm considering the Sonoma room is because you can see the fireworks from the Magic Kingdom from there. You actually have to walk out on the catwalk, but the Napa room you can see the fireworks from the inside of the room.

I am selecting Whitehall for my reception location. You can still see the castle from this location on the patio--at a slightly closer distance than your view of the wedding pavilion. If you time your even right----you can still see the fireworks from this location. I don't know how close you are at the other venue.
I did a search for the sonoma room and nothing came up. I then typed in sonoma by itself and this particular thread came up. I am looking for pictures of the sonoma room and what the view looks like from this room. Thank you very much!

You can see the fireworks and the castle from both locations (from what I've heard) but for the Sonoma room you have to walk out onto the catwalk. To answer your question from the other post, yes the music is piped into the whole restaurant for the fireworks Hope this helps!
