I'm stuck should we buy the 14 day ultimate disney ticket or is it worth us paying the extra few pounds and getting a 21 day so that we can have a few extra hours at the end of our holiday after we have checked our bags in at DTD? Heres the details:

We are going for 23 days next year from the 12th of July until the 4th of August. I have booked a house at Regal Palms for 16 nights and another near the gulf coast at Spring Hill for the final week.

The tickets we were thinking of getting and how I thought of using them and why:

14 days Ultimate Disney, 5 Park Flexitickets and Maximum Access Kennedy Space Centre. We realise that this is alot but don't envisage being able to afford to return for at least 3 or 4 years for financial reasons, that's why we decided on the 3rd week so that we could chill out before we return home. However I've been wondering whether it would be worth us paying those few pounds more for the 21 days ticket.

I was thinking that we could use the Kennedy tickets first for the first couple of days because I understand you can use these tickets for 2 days if you wish. Then use the Disney tickets (whichever we decide on) and after a couple more days use the flexitickets. My reason for starting these a couple of days later is so that we can still use them for Busch Gardens a couple of days after we have gone to Spring Hill.

Someone suggested the annual pass would be a good idea and whilst I think these are a brilliant idea I don't think the extra would be worth it for us.

I would really welcome everyone's opinions and advice on this would it be worth it or should we stick with the 14 day tickets and go round DTD or the shopping malls on our last day?

You certainly seem to be overticketed.

Those will be an expensive few hours after checking in! It may be worth figuring out how many days you are actually going to spend at Disney and buying a ticket for that number of days - may need to buy from America.

This should save you money (especially if you dont want the water parks and park hopping).

After you check your bags in you can then decide whether to pay for another single day at the gate or to do something different.

Personally I always use the last day to pick up some final shopping bargains :goodvibes

If you are only in Orlando for the 16 days I think I would just stick to the Ultimate ticket and just potter around on the last day. We sometimes go to the Disney crazy golf on the last day if we have time. :)

We are aware that this is alot but we wanted to be sure to cover at least the full 2 weeks and the MYW tickets only go to 10 days plus there isn't actually that much difference in the price by the time you have taken into account the exchange rate and CC card charges. Plus we did want to do the water parks, park hopping and disney quest too.

We had realised that at the end of the first 16 days we will probably be totally knackered that's why we booked the third week, but we want to be able to at least see part of them all we're not too worried if we don't get on all the rides - I don't like the big rollercoasters anyway although I loved Tower of Tower last time we went! As I said we don't expect to get back for a few years so we are trying to make the most of it and will have the week after to recover in.

We may well to this too but I wanted to get others opinions first! :)

I've just had a look at the ticket prices and your suggestion does actually seem to be a relatively cheap way of getting an extra day in the parks - as long as you do actually go to the parks. Annual passes do seem to be another option but you would need premium annual passes if you want the water parks and that ups the price quite a bit.

Think about what time you'd get back to Orlando on your last day and what time you'd need to leave to get to the airport and work out if it might be a calmer end to your holiday by going to DTD or one of the malls or maybe have lunch at one of the Disney hotels.

We're going for 17 days in July and we bought 21 day tickets. Why? - quite simply the 14 days expire 14 days after first use and we thought what if we want to go after that. I think for the extra few pounds it cost us it was worth it.

Like you we probably wont be going back for a oouple of years so we wanted to ensure we made the most of it. So go for it and get that 21 day ticket just in case......

Three words:-

Buy Annual Passes.

I agree with this. If going for the 21-day ticket, I would simply get APs instead. You can also buy the DDE card to get 20% off food.

Plus, aren't you going back next July?? If so, you would save a fortune buying APs for your August trip and using them for your July trip too.

No Frances it's next year I'm going not this year that's Gran Canaria and I doubt if we will be able to afford to go for at least 3/4 years after next year that's why I don't think the annual pass will be worth it to us! in order to get access to the same parks we would need to get the premium pass and that would be nearly double the cost of the 14 day ultimate ticket. Yes that's really good value if you are likely to go back within the year but as we won't be I don't think it is worth it for us.

Oh, well that's different then! Sorry, I should have read your signature properly. I'd stick with the 14-day, personally. If you decide to go for the last day, just buy a one-day ticket at the gate.

At just £16 extra for adults and £8 extra for children, I'd go ahead and buy them.
