Hi! We are leaving for WDW in 13 days! It was sort of a last minute thing, but I am so excited!

Anyway, me, DH and our 14 month old son, my SIL and BIL and their 3 year old and 14 month old are going. Anyone with expirances with children so little? What is the policy for parents riding the attractions with them? Can the babies go on most anything (not stuff like Space Mountain of course)? I hear that parents can swap places in line or something like that too.

Any advice would be much appreciated!! :cutie:

HI and welcome to The DIS!:) I am very interested in tips about rides also with a 14 month old. I do know that the babies can ride just about anything with you except the rides with height restrictions. With the child swap, basicly just one parent will have to wait in line and then you will swap after he or she rides and the second parent goes right on. Someone correct me if this is incorrect. Have fun!!

This is true except when you "swap" you go to the cast member and tell them you have a small child and they will give the person going on the ride a ticket. One parent goes on line and rides then comes out and gives the other parent the ticket. You then give the cast member your ticket and wait on the fast pass line which goes much faster than the regular line but sometimes you still have to wait a little.

We went with an 11 month old a couple of years ago. He rode everything that we did except the height restricted rides. Now, he is a tall child & was then, but he was not walking yet. He rode POTC with us--& we asked before we went in & they said he would be fine.

I've been taking my DD's on almost everything since they were born. That is what is so wonderful about Disney. Most of the rides are family friendly. Practically all of fantasyland is safe. And there is no better invention than baby swap. That way you can go do a grown up ride and not have to wait in a super long line twice for your party.

You'll have a blast and so will your 14 month old!

Our first daughetr was 14 months old last July when we went. We had a blast!!! At the Mk they can do everything except the mtn's and barnstormer (mini-coaster). At the AK we did alot of character interaction, which she loved. (We were surprised by this, we were prepared for her to scream and we were going to avoid characters). After realizing she loved them we booked Crystal Palace and she had a blast except for when they left the table. Other than characters at AK, my husband did the safari ride with her (I was pregnant at the time) and we did alot of animal watching. Theres also a Dumbo type ride there also. Epcot was a blast but MGM we were a bit challenging to find things for her.

We did alot of low key touring, she enjoyed feeding the ducks at the boat dock at MGM and Epcot. She loved chasing or I should say toddling after the ducks at MK. She had just mastered walking the week before we left for the trip. She was a joy to watch.
