Hopefully this is in the right spot - Just wondering for those of you who stay on-site for 14 days what do you do - Do you book a package or do you book your room and tickets seperate? My husband and I will be at Disney next April/May for 14 days - we arrive late in the evening on April 20th and leave early in the morning on May 3rd. I'm just trying to figure out the best way to go.

TIA

We just came back from 7 days and booked a package. That is the best way for our family. We have done shorter trips with just booking a resort and buying a 1 day park ticket. That works out if you really want to spend a lot of time at the resort.

For being there for 14 days, I would book a package. We did a Wishes Cruise our first night and it was really nice. It was a great way to start the vacation. :)

We fly in from England so usually spend 2 weeks at WDW. We stay using DVC points so book everything seperate. We book our park tickets before we travel as they are cheaper over here for the longer stays. As we are at WDW for a while we make sure we have park days plus we plan non parks days (Discovery cove, Universal, Kennedy Space Centre, Busch Gardens and shopping are some things we do.) We also book back stage tours as well as regular park days. We like to make the most of our time there as we know we won't be back for a while each time as it is so expensive for us.

Our last family visit was for 10 days. We wanted to stay at AKL again, so premium annual passes and rates were the way to go. We also purchased the DDE card, which was wonderful!!! Dh and I will be returning to WL (with AP rates!) for 5 days in July, and the entire family (including grandparents) will be visiting AKL in October for 9 days.

We stayed for 10 days at BWV in March 1997 (12 of us in 3 separate 1bedroom villas) and I booked directly thru Disney and it cost me a fortune (back then they had the dining/recreation/room/tickets package all in one). Next spring we will be staying only 7days/6nights and am using the DVC rent points to stay at BW again (compared $90 per night at BW vs $79 at one of the value resorts).

Someone correct me but I think this is more affordable doing it separately especially using the DVC points plus getting to stay in a more luxurious hotel such as BW. Also would love some pointers as well.

always for that length of stay we book rooms and passes seperately - and usually getting annual passes. they are a big saving plus they help you get a discount on the room

We stayed for 26 days on our Disneymoon and have made some 16 day trips. We always book everything seperate. It makes more sense to buy a PAP when staying that long. You also can get a great discount on your room. When we go for a 2 week trip I don't plan as much it's more of a laid back trip. We wake up when we want and head to whatever park we want. We spend more time enjoying the little things that people rushing miss. We take and afternoon and stroll the BW or spend the day in DTD, take a tour, rent a pontoon boat and explore, go explore the other resorts. There's lot to do and w/ a longer trip you can relax more!

This would be my suggestion too! Plus, with an Annual Pass, you can purchase the Disney Dining Experience card for $50 - it will give you 20% many of the restaurants at WDW.

Before you commit to anything, get the pricing for a package; then price the components separately (a Travel Agent could be very helpful in getting you the best deal).

Have *fun* planning your trip!!! :goodvibes

Thanks everyone for your feedback I really appreciate it. Now on to the planning!!!
