14 day Ultimate over the Christmas Holidays

I'm reading that the 14 day is based on year.

If you buy a 2012 14 day Ultimate will it be automatically extended into the New Year because you activated it in December? ( December 22 - January 5). I'm sure it's regularly used over the holidays.

Tickets work on day they are activated, you just need to activate in 2012, it is then valid until the expiry date.
We have been 5 times from Xmas thru into the new year, no problem using them after 31st Dec.

We go most years at this time and there is no issue using them across both years. We have even activated after the the year end due to very bad weather. We just spoke to hotel reception and let them know that we didn't want to go in on 31st just to activate them and they sorted it out. Be careful about universal tickets, some of these need to be activated by the end of the year date- but can still be used across both years.
