Nope, it's no biggie. They put you out, stick a camera down your throat, and you wake up. The hardest part for me was fasting ahead of time.

Exactly what PP said. I hope she has an earlier in the day appointment because that really was the hardest part- not eating. Other than that, took a quick cat nap and woke up and it was done. Didn't feel a thing!

Shouldn't be a big deal. My mother had one done and for some reason they didn't give her general anesthesia like they told her beofrehand. She ended up having a "panic attack" while they were doing it and ended up in CCu for a few days because her heart rate went so high.

Of course that's not the norm.

I had one 8 years ago and it was a piece of cake!!!

I'm scheduled to have one on Wednesday but I think the winter storm is going to ruin my plans!

Not at all, I had one done last summer because my family physician feared I might have ulcers because of some early signs. Too much of a type A personality I guess, but it ended up being nothing. The procedure is simple and quick though, they usually will apply general anesthesia and basically stick a camera down your throat. Nothing overly complicated, except she might feel the after effects of the anesthesia.

I was so nervous when I was scheduled for mine - turned out to be nothing! I went to sleep for about 10 minutes and didn't feel a thing! As someone else mentioned, just be careful of the after effects of the anesthesia - I got a little dizzy when I tilted my head back in the shower the next morning.

Anyone have one done? DD is scheduled for one tomorrow morning and isn't quite sure what to expect..

I was just wondering how your dd was doing. Is she feeling any better since her hospital stay? Have they given her a definate diagnosis, or is this test going to help determine?
Best of luck to her. I know it has to be a very hard time for all of you.
