(March 26) - The British teen who claimed that an even younger boy fathered her child has a different story to tell after DNA test results showed young Alfie Patten wasn't the dad.

Chantelle Stedman, 15, said she had only slept with Alfie, age 13. Their story touched off international outrage over the moral standards of parents and their children.

But The Telegraph reported that other boys a few years older than Alfie had come forward saying they too had slept with Chantelle.

Now The Mirror confirms that while they don't know who is little Maisie's dad, it definitely isn't Alfie.
"The result will be a blow to Alfie who was "devastated" by the boys' claims and "adored" Maisie," the newspaper reported. "He was convinced he was the dad after a single night of unprotected sex with Chantelle."

Stedman's daughter Maisie was allegedly conceived when Alfie was 12. Chantelle's parents said they let the lad spend the night with their daughter, who was 14 at the time, at their public housing unit near Eastbourne, 70 miles southeast of London.
Alfie told The Sun he plans to look after his newborn daughter. But in an interview, the boy admitted he didn't know what the word "financially" meant and acknowledged he doesn't even get an allowance.

Alfie's father, who reportedly has nine or 10 children of his own, gamely promised to have a "birds and the bees" chat with his son.
Not all were reassured.

Sir Bernard Ingham, once press secretary to former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, told the Associated Press that people from across Britain's political spectrum are in despair over the country's social breakdown.

"It's an indication that we've lost our way, that people don't know the difference between right and wrong," he said of young Alfie. "The plain fact is society can't proceed on this basis. I think this is an indication of broken Britain."

Oh interesting will have to see what the local paper says!

There's just so many different things wrong with this story. Where do you begin?

You definitely wonder about the young boy and his physical, psychological and social development as a 12-year-old, when he was alleged to have slept with the girl.

You can wonder about his dad. The AOL.com story posted in the OP mentions that the dad "reportedly has nine or 10 children of his own" - but doesn't mention that these were with several different women. (That's the way to set a role model, dad!)

You can wonder about the fourteen-year-old mother: she must have been pretty active sexually. According to The Telegraph, at least eight other boys claim they were the father ( http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ukn...e-Patten-as-eight-others-claim-paternity.html )

And you can wonder about the media. One of the reasons so many boys have turned up, anxious to claim paternity is that the story has set off a media frenzy, with different television companies bidding for the rights to the story. The ante could be up around half a million pounds (600,000 - 700,000 dollars) ( http://www.guardian.co.uk/news/blog/2009/feb/15/alfie-patten-teenage-father ). That kind of money sure beats the kind of dead-end jobs teenagers can get.

What is wrong with those parents of that girl? Let him sleep over with her? And he probably wasn't the only one.

Did you see the picture of him with that hoodie on with the repulsive, obscene saying and gesture? I was so disgusted with that, and with his parents for allowing him to wear it!

No! But now I am curious!!

There are only three words that are fitting in this situation: Jerry, Jerry, Jerry!

As an adult who could not have children, despite a huge effort, this story upsets me on several levels.

Oh my! I just did a google image search of his name and you are right!

Is the Lily Allen song "Alfie" about this kid? It could be a possibility.

The original Daily Mirror page has now gone and now there is a page stating that the results will be kept secret because 'no new details be made public because the three people involved were all children and had a right to a private life.'.
But the girl doesn't have a right to a private life? She's only 15 and yet her name and picture have been splattered all over the papers and internet. That is insane!
