13 year olds at the spa?

Curious to hear which spa services 13 year olds can do. The site now say Painted Sky the "teen" spa is for up to 12 year olds (not teens but whatever) and 14 years old and up can do regular treatments with adult supervision. My daughter will be 13 when we visit - so is she not able to go to the spa at all? Seems unlikely Disney would not take our money - an the age things is a super weird oversight IMO. So can she do the 12 year old stuff or book the 14 year old stuff like an adult.

I will be calling to book and will ask around this. Wondering what others with 13 year olds have been able to do.

Called and got an answer for this - 13 year olds can do hair and nail services, so that includes haircut, styling, color, scalp massage, oil treatment, or a mani/pedi. It seems like they can go to the Salon but not to Painted Sky or the Teen treatments at the spa.

I guess that's a compromise because she can do something, but I wish there was something a bit more "spa like" like a teen facial or massage. I'm not sure I want to pay Disney $ for an up do or hair oil. I may just do a pedi with her but we do that at home for half the price so it doesn't seem very special - I just don't do nail stuff at resorts.

yep, 13 is basically a black hole and it's so weird - we were there with our 13 and 15 year olds and found out it's just a weird oversight they haven't fixed yet between the various options.

Sorry, can I tag onto this? I was hoping to book the family massage package, thinking the four of us could all go together. My kids are 11 and 14.

I asked about this and got a confusing answer. I thought the point of the family packages was that kids of any age could go. When I reread it they no longer have the pictures with babies and toddlers. So I guess its over 14 to go in the spa area, 12 and under for the kids area.

I ended up booking my daughter and I both hair treatments (her the moroccan oil, me a braid). But there's only one person working the salon, so they have to be back to back not together. So lame, missed opportunity for Disney.
