It's just my DD13 and DS16 and me for 5 days at WDW. They will be allowed to separate from me for a few hours at a time (16-year-old has cell phone), they are both WDW veterans. We have room-only reservations. I want to avoid having anything charged on the room cards, just to keep things simple at check-out time which will be at the crack of dawn. One is extremely frugal and tends to hoard money, the other is the opposite. We all have lanyards with ziplock cases attached, or they can keep money or cards in their pocketsI can give them a cash allowance each day, or I can give them reloadable Disney gift cards. Can someone suggest which might be the best them? How easy is it to know the balance left on the gift cards? Thanks!

I don't know anything about the gift cards, but if you do gift cards over cash, be sure to not put say $200 on them at the beginning of the trip because your DC could lose it and there goes $200. I'd do like $25 a day.

Probably $15-$25 a day, I'm a teen myself and that's about what I need.

I would do a gift card, and I think 15 to 25 dollars is enough. I'm a stingy teen myself...also, I would add maybe 3 to 5 dollars to the card for snacks. I know that one of my favorite things about Disney is the Mickey ice cream bars... :)
