12/6/08 Eastern ~ ***CURRENT ROSTER pg 68, post # 1007!

I take back the headshots -- I think I'm going to stick with just the family shots, which many of you have already sent in...

Just trying to figure out the layout...

I just got a call from my best friend and her husband. We've been trying to talk them (and their DD(8) into joining us on this cruise for awhile now. Well apparently they've been checking out the prices and think they can swing it, assuming she's able to get time off of work! Please send some magic pixie dust vibes their way so that they're able to work it out! :wizard:

Anyone know of anybody with any discounts for this cruise that I can point them to?

Yea!!! My friends booked this cruise this week so they'll be on the ship!!! Two adults and an 8 year old girl if any is keeping a tally. :yay: :yay: They have a Cat 12 GTY, and have been waitlisted for early dining, but we're hopeful that we'll be able to work it out where they can join my family for dinner.

Is anyone planning to re-book a future cruise while onboard? We might book another dummy date -- I think we are going to wait until one of the new ships comes out... I am hoping for a Hawaii itinerary, but wouldn't cry if it was Caribbean again :)

We'll probably rebook another cruise but it'll probably be a dummy date since we'd probably want to cruise 2-3 years from now. But we'll see what's available and what the prices are.

How do you get a half facial? And that is called the spa taster? I did not see that on the website! I have done the CC cabana massage... AMAZING!! I tried to sign up for that this time but no times available... will try to book on board!

I know that when I arrived for my massage, the first thing the masseur asked is if I wanted just a massage or if I wanted the 1/2 facial, 1/2 massage. I stuck with the full massage, but my husband bit on the spa taster and came back with lots of product the lady had talked him into buying!!

So even if you don't book it ahead of time, book a regular massage, and they'll probably offer you the 1/2 and 1/2 deal (so they can try to sell you product!)

I wrote "no sales pitch" on my spa form and the girl laughed and asked why and I said I was completely tapped out from paying for the cruise and could barely spend anything on the spa as it was... she didn't say a thing during my facial. I might actually listen to the pitch this time or I might mention that I'm only looking for a couple of things... it really is less annoying when they're not reciting every single thing they're using on your face.

Had to go REALLY BIG on the font for this one----Yessireee it is the BIG 50! Ye Ha!!!!!!! Mickey and the Magic here we come! :cool1: :wizard: :santa: :dance3: :yay: princess: :flower3:

WOW!! 50 years young?? I LOVE IT!! :yay: In 20 years from now I will be on here saying the same thing... and I SURELY will be celebrating with Mickey! Who knows what will be out by then! Maybe Disney will have a ship to the moon! :scared1: HEHE!

We could plan to meet-n-greet in the terminal at 11:00? Would everybody be in line by then, though? It might be easier to keep it casual by not saying a time but just maybe carved out an "area" at the terminal. We've usually camped out on the couches and tvs right by the bathrooms, to the right at the top of the elevators and right across from the check in counters.

On board, we could try to all sit together at the embarkation buffet - if we all want to agree to go to Parrot Cay or Topsiders... any preferences?

Then maybe a photo op around the top deck after everyone has had a chance to drop off carry-ons and get their bookings/Palo/Spa ressies straightened out? Maybe like sometime between 2 and 3?

Questions? Comments? Suggestions? Beuller?

We will probably not arrive until 11:30 - 12 noon, so I think the idea of the buffet sounds good - although I will look for everyone on the couches.....!! (Gosh, I hope I don't walk up to complete strangers and say "HI! Aren't you excited about the cruise!! I'm so glad we did the boards in advance!! " I can imagine the stares.....:rotfl: Maybe we should wear hats, or false mustaches, or something?:)
I like the idea of the photo on the top deck (Deck 10?)....Now, will we be able to find someone on the ship who isn't on the DISBoards.....:wave2: LOL!!

LOL everyone.... I think she was talking about 50 days before our cruise, not turning 50....

(unless I am missing it....)

Okay, I have just spent the last hour researching rubber wristbands instead of working :rolleyes1 and I have counted up that we're around 80 bodies -- 50 adults and 30 kids (roughly) that have checked in...

So 80 braclets would cost us about $2 per bracelet IF everyone wants one... Might be a bit higher if I have to go below qty 50 on the adult size....

How much interest is there? Maybe I will send an email out tonight when I get home, as I don't think everyone checks in on this thread regularly.....

I can fit "Pirates in Paradise 2008" on there. Would be an easy way to spot each other in the terminal.... you all can find me to check in and get your brochure and bracelet.... Maybe I'll wear a funny hat...

(Does anyone's kids watch the Wizards of Waverly Place? Cue chant - what's that? a hat? a crazy funky junky hat....) Okay, back to work....
