12/5-6 sold out, so what about 12/6-13

We got the Winter Dream Maker Package for 12/6-13 for our very first visit at WL. Orginally we requested standard view, but were told standard and woods were not available for our dates. Later we figured out that it was only our first night we couldn't get, but by then there were no other rooms through the WDM package available (when people cancel, those rooms go back to regular rooms, NOT available for packages). That was OK though, because we had gotten excited about staying in a courtyard room. My concern is, with the weekend we arrive being sold out, are we going to get "stuck" with a less than desirable courtyard view? I'm sure they're all basically great. However, I've read that some are better than others and some have not been happy with the villas pool view, as it did not seem with the courtyard price (more appropriate for woods). If I fax in a request (have never done this) how should I say that we would like a specific type room/view/floor etc, and make it clear if it's not available our first night then we are willing to move later. We did not want to have to do this, but we would rather have 1 or 2 nights that don't meet all our desires, and then the other 6 or 7 with what we'd like. Thanks for any advice.

You can fax to the resort directly, or call WDTC and have a note made on your reservation that you would like a view of the main courtyard. I don't know the fax number but I know there is a page with that info on wdwig.com. Also, the earlier in the day you can arrive, the better your chances of getting a "better" room.

I wouldn't mention a request to change rooms after the first couple of nights, you can always request that once there, plus by noting it on your reservation, they might end up putting you in a less than desireable location.

Thank you, BrianD. I had not thought of that. I am going to keep my mouth shut and not worry about it unless I have to.:D
