12/19/2009 - 12/26/2009 Magical Christmas Cruise! It's not that far Away?

Do people usually put cards on their FE gifts to say who they're from? I'm about 1/4 through making ours and just realized that I don't know if I should put note cards on them! We'll probably put the FEs in one of the parent pockets (if there are multiple pockets on your FE bags).

Also, just to warn everyone- our FE bag will not be big. At all. It's probably 9"x12". Unless I go to Hobby Lobby and buy a tote bag and paint it.

Hey Robyn, I'm attaching a tag to the gift and my bag is a Christmas stocking so its not very big!

It's good to chit chat with you guys. I won't be able to do much more as preparation alone will be a killer. Mammaw is with us now until the 16th. She is 103. Plan is to let her see Billy in his Christmas concert and then put her on a plane to her other granddaughter in California. Office is swamped, Angela is slight sick. Mammaw was vomiting this am. It is just awful getting ready for vacation.
Bill We and Mammaw have met Clayton before.

Well I WAS supposed to be cruising with you...but my parents wanted to save up more spending money so we postponed the cruise to 2011. stinks that I was getting all excited and now I can't go =[ oh well...it's not like i'll never be back!

HAVE FUN EVERYONE!:cool1:

I'm doing the same as stitchlover on labeling my FE's...

When my daughter participated she put a small gift like postcards, pens, etc in each persons FE each day they were at sea. Is that the way it is done? It seems to me that would be very hard to label each time.... Maybe I need to rethink my ideas and join the group idea of labeling. However that would mean it would be one time that each person would receive something. When my daughter did this it was especially fun for the kids on sea days to see what treasures they got. They were inexpensive items but fun for all. Can you all help me out here with suggestions? Am I on the right track or way off...:cool1::dance3::cheer2:

I hope you are not all getting that dreaded flu. It is a bear. It has taken about ten days to leave my friends system who have contracted it. Wishing you the best! Will be thinking good thoughts....

Barb, you don't have the FE thing all wrong at all...in fact, anything goes with this! In the beginning we said we didn't want any strict rules for it, because we wanted it to be stress-free and fun for everyone. The only thing someone suggested is to not leave gifts the first night or last night since people will be getting settled and getting packed.

I would love it if I had time to deliver little gifts each day. How thoughtful of you to think of that! I will only be delivering one bag of gifts during the week, and I just packed them up with a little notecard on them.

So, please do what you want to with the FE and enjoy! :goodvibes

Bill, stay well!!!

I've been nagging DD about washing hands, not getting in other kids faces', not sharing food, yada yada yada...I almost get paranoid once we get this close!!!

Here's wishing good health to everyone!!!!

Hey everyone! I didn't fall off the edge of the earth! :rotfl2: For not working anymore, my days are sure filling up fast.

I think I hve the FE list up to date. (Fingers crossed!)

I am still recoving from last week. Choir school tour was fun, but tiring. The choir tours our 5 elementary schools during the school day. It was the first time chaparoning. The kids were pretty well behaved, but by the end of the day they were a bit wild! A boy that I give a ride to, jumped off the top step of the bus at one of the schools and than swore up and down he slipped. Yeah, right. I was right behind him. :scared1:

The Christmas concert was wonderful. All the kids did a good job. Helping back stage to switch the Ensemble vests was a trip. Then the choir director gives me the job of cueing :santa: when to come on stage! Gosh talk about pressure! :scared1: Thank goodness :santa: and the Mrs. came out on cue! :thumbsup2

Looks like we are going to get snow this week. Good get it out of it's system. I need good weather on the 18th!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to check-in and send out some "get well" wishes out there.

I have 5 papers due for my grad courses within the next 8 days :scared1: so I'll be MIA for a while...I CANNOT wait for Dec. 19 until I'm on the boat with a DOD! :thumbsup2

Good luck with all the packing and FEs! :wave2:

Mark,,,, Helloooooo derrrrrreeee,,,,,
I will have Kristen, my 14y.o., Billy , my son, 17, and Kathleen, his girlfriend, also seventeen. Kristen is actually still 13, but will be fourteen on Dec. 27. She is mature and hangs out with the teenage group. When we went on college tours, they thought she was also applying. She will be staying in the Stack with the high schoolers. I will need to get permission because she is technically still 13, but she has been hanging out in aloft already on the Wonder. It would be bad to not let her into the Stack.

Mark,,,, Is this your first Disney cruise?????? I noticed that you have very few posts. Join in some more and keep us company.

Thanks for the welcome.
This is actually our 4th cruise, I'm just a flake with blogs..
First cruise was the Caribbean, then Panama, the Med and now a new twist for the holidays. My kids have grown up on the DCL...
I too would also like to get my 13 YO into the stack, is there a special procedure to make that happen?.

The illnesses continue! Emily just went down with a horrible coughing virus going around. No fever, no sickness whatsoever just a horrible cough that no medicine will touch. 48 hours of continuous coughing. The poor child is exhausted. I finally got her settled by giving her a combination of her perscription cough med and a children's melatonin. She was in tears tonight because she was so miserable. Please let this pass!!
