The golf course near us has green water and golf eye balls. I guess I should have known that. No gators though. Just rattlers.

They are definitely not my favorite creatures, either. When we first moved here, the house had too much brush around it, and we had a TON of rattlers and other snakes....Red Racers, Bull Snakes....but lately we don't see very many. They seem to kind of come in waves. One year, we'll see quite a few, the next...none. But I also don't wander out into the desert to look for them. The golfers carry a special tool to retrieve their golf balls from the bushes. Wouldn't want to stick my hand in there!

Waves of them would send me to a condo in the city!!! I live in the country, my property backs up to the state park. I NEVER go outside without the dogs unless it is directly to my car, just in case! I keep the grass cut and the bushes cleared from the yard. I know they are out there, I just don't want to see them.

Guaranteed, I look before I step! I once almost stepped off the front porch and right onto a rattler.....I didn't know I could jump so high! LOL

Even last night, when I went out to get the kids from the football game, I turned on the light, and looked down before I stepped off the porch. Only takes once to make you learn. Especially this time of year, when they come out at night to hunt and stretch out when it's cooler!
