12/16/06 10-day holiday cruise Part 4

It is POURING here. I always think about all of those people out in the parks. It sure is miserable to be there in weather like this. Oh well, its only Thursday. SURVIVOR tonight.

DH just finished his next-to-last final. Tonight he will get those grades done and ready to turn in tomorrow. Then in the morning he has the last exam, will grade those and get grades turned in while I am at work for the morning. Right now he is out doing some last minute gift shopping.

I think I have printed boarding passes prior to the 24 hour mark for a 2nd flight. I thought it was only for the first flight that it mattered since the 2nd is really a continuation of the first. I guess I will find out tonight when I try to print mine.

DD is having a conniption. We ordered her a pirate costume last week that was supposed to be here yesterday but it wasn't here yet. It had better get here today or she will be heartbroken .

Laundry just finished...gotta fold and then see if I can actually get everything else that needs packed into the little bit of space that is left...

Susan, the flower thing...is that something you can do on-line?

for the costume. Things like that are so important to someone her age! I'll send you some of my magic because we were waiting on DSs gift to his brother (we're trying to bring those to open Christmas.) He ordered it over a week ago and it finally arrived today. Let's hope the trend continues!

Good morning everyone! Two more days!!!! And we leave tomorrow night!!!

For those that are keeping track of room numbers, emmyjules let me know that her room number is different than what I had. Her room number is 6010 (NOT 6100). I will be putting her stocking on the correct door so you will be able to find the right room, but wanted to let folks know as well.

So, should the other room # be 6012 instead of 6102? I have two rooms down for emmyjules's party.

Also, did we ever hear from DB&JB/Dbentley51 (6522) or Land & Sea (8528) or dflst (8534)? I thought someone mentioned that Juletime was gone.

I'm going to put my faith in your stockings, Tink. Where the stockings are is where the presents will go

Good Evening Everyone,

Many of us I think are leaving tomorrow so I just wanted to wish everyone safe travels! Hopefully everyone has packed because I think its getting to late to just start now...lol... Tomorrow will be a crazy day here, I have school 755-1230 and then I work at 3pm. Then the family is picking me up when I get off and we are off to LAX for our 1045pm redeye to orlando. I have the feeling I will be wiped by the time we make to orlando. Well good luck everyone in your travels and just try to think of where we will all be in less then 2 days!

that we leave for our flight from Newark tomorrow night at 7:00. Staying in Hyatt at Orlando airport and then off to the Magic. Just finished 4.5 marathon packing session and at about 90% complete...not so bad I guess based on some of the other things that I just scanned was going on out there. We rented the original Pirates of the Carib. last Sunday as a family prep. All 5 of us have never seen it and it did not disappoint, although my 8 year old DS was not liking the pirate\skeleton transformation.

Just got an email saying the costume was shipped today and should arrive 12/19!!!! Like that helps!!!! So tomorrow after work I have to go by the store that carries costumes all year and see if they have anything Sam will approve of. When I get home I will be returning the one I ordered since it won't be needed then.

Still have packing to do, didn't get any done tonight. Oh well, maybe I will go do that and then off to bed.

I will be on the boards in the morning, but then we are off....

I know. I ordered a small fiber optic xmas tree back on Dec 3. Still not here, and PM is supposed to be 2-4 days. Company said it could be up to 10. First I ever heard of that. Oh well. That too will be returned once we make it home. Fortunately, I found another tree at the Party Depot store nearby.

And it looks like db&jb/dbentley is with us. At least they opted out of DIS tag on the Yahoo group.

And speaking of DIS Tag, it looks like there are four families who would rather opt out. Please don't feel like you're spoiling the fun. Cruising is all about doing what you want to do, and you shouldn't feel obligated to participate in something that isn't your cup of tea. And if I recall, the last time I played this on a cruise, we did make sure to check who all wanted to play in advance. We just forgot to do that this time until it was kinda late, so really it's our bad.

So, booksw and dbentley would like to opt out. There is some question as to who is jrgray and mothrgoose. Those Yahoo IDs don't match up with DIS board IDs, so hopefully those people will be able to clear things up on here.

For future reference, is there a way to put a poll on a specific thread on the DIS?

All finished packing except a few odds and ends (DW's glasses, which she will pack in the AM, cell phones, etc.). Had our first shock when we realized at 9PM we had forgotten DD4's swimsuits. We were repacking our first night bag (staying at Hyatt tomorrow night) and realized we didn't have her cover-up. SWMBO went into DD's room and realized there were too many suits in the room for us to have packed any. Whew. Disaster of mega-proportions averted (since the Princess would have had a melt-down if we were on the ship on Saturday and she couldn't swim b/c no store was open to buy a suit)

Alright guys - We are leaving our house in 7 hours. The power has been flickering and it is very windy. Hopefully our flight won't make national news tomorrow. Like the one in Seattle that had to abort landing because wing almost touched the ground.

have to stop at costume store for DD.... Am I ready, do I have everything???? I guess we will find out when we get there! Need to make a note of who doesn't want to play tag....
