i'm better now...we had a nice long phone conversation..there was some yelling...lots of crying (on both ends), and tons of pleads...but we are great now...i can always tell when he's feeling good..he tells me he loves me as we say goodbye before i do...that's my clue he really really loves me that day...lol sounds silly but its a good indicator

Morning, everyone! I'm an early to bed, early to rise east coaster so I miss the late night conversations :sad2: . Oh well. Jen, I hope all is well now.

Glad you ladies like the new avatar! I got tired of waiting for them to add a JS one so I did my own. I just wish whoever does the smilies would add a Jack Sparrow smiley or two pirate: ! That would be so cool!

My fault. It's really rather simple. Guy sees post with word 'breasts'. Guy has to respond to post. It's a Man Law (TM).

Man Law--I see. I guess that starts early. I accept it, but never hope to understand it! :sad2:

Actually, your comments were funny. I give you credit for wading through all of the girl talk long enough to find something that interests you! ;)

Jen, glad you feel better now (or at least a couple of hours ago). I remember being your age. is never easy, and less so when both of you are young... HOpefully you are getting some sleep now.

You know, I'm thinking if my teenagers were on and saw what the censors were *****ing, they'd be looking at what else would offend the ::cop: . In fact, they could probably entertain themselves that way for awhile.
Maybe it's a good thing they aren't into posting!

Morning Kat :surfweb: ! Way to go on making that Avatar. I went to sleep with that image fresh in my mind....much better than the darned banana!

LOL Sherrena, glad I could help! I could always email you the picture, the size I used for my shirt or for the avatar! Sorry I can't send you one the size of my poster!

good morning everybody. another full day of fun fun!

I have been listening in and getting a :teeth: . Been too busy to do anything but read the posts. Gave a test yesterday and I am almost done grading them - even the essays.

I have a 7:15 meeting with a parent today about her "brillent son" - aren't all our little ones brillent??? I know mine were. :rolleyes1 Well she wants us to not assign homework to him because he is too busy being brillent to do it and it brings down his grades which should be all 'A's'. Okay, he is a bright kid and a nice one but I don't know about this one????

Sometimes being a teacher can be tough - this mom took her son out for a three week vacation to the east coast to "study" the 13 colonies - not an 8th grade topic here :sad2: but I can see it's value if the young man said all he could remember was going to Busch Gardens!

oh, another day as a teacher....

Susan, I think I'd tell that parent that because their son is SO brilliant he needs MORE homework. :rotfl: I don't buy taking a kid out of school for 3 weeks for vacation for any reason. 1 week, maybe, but not 3! Especially not in 8th grade. Lucky you to get to deal with the parents of this "brilliant" child. Good luck!

It's LEAP wednesday. That doesn't mean teachers Leap off a bridge it is training day. We get education and technology training every Wed afternoon. I'm trying to learn how to us my new 6x6 active board in my classroom.

Jen, good to see you feeling better. I'm currently in the same situation, tried going off my meds, was doing great, feeling good, then bam. I seem to be dealing with situational depression, maybe you have the same. It's hard, I know, but take care of yourself.

Kat, great avatar!

Susan, you're a saint. I don't know how teachers do it today what with bossy parents and ineffective administrators. I've had one hellofa dealings with my DD new HS. Passing the buck seems to be the new stragedy to unnerve parents who care about their childs education.

Man Laws. Gotta love them, they're the spice of life.

Hmm, just looked at the deck above our room. It's the nightclub deck... we're not 'right' under the club but it's nearby. Anyone have any experience with deck two and the noise it might have?

We've never stayed on deck 2 so I don't know. We were on deck 8 last time, right underneath Topsiders! Got lots of spray from them cleaning up there on our verandah in the morning, glad we didn't leave anything out there! Usually we've had inside rooms on 6 or 7. This time we are going to be on 5 with a secret porthole so that should be interesting.

We had a secret porthole room on our trip last year. It was great. Okay, take that in perpective that we have never had a veranda room. View on the middle two secret porthole rooms is best (we had 5024 & 5022 I think). First room in (we have 5524 this time) has no view - only barrels, but still gets light and has a window!

We loved being on the 5th floor - very quiet. There is a nice table and chair right around the corner from the rooms and it has a nice window. I used that to journal daily, especially when the kids were sleeping. You are across the atrium from kids clubs so that is a no brainer - no noise. LOVED them.

Susan you are a saint. I keep asking DS teacher to push him harder. He can and will do it but needs to be pushed alittle harder than others. Usually for him once he knows what the teacher and mom and dad expect he will step it up. Last year's teacher was fantastic. This year's is great. She just more laid back. From this :cheer2: high energy go, go, go kind of teacher to :artist: that is great good job. Not complaining happy with the teacher just could use alittle :yay: . :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Same with us, only been on the upper decks. Since this particular stateroom hadn't been taken at this late date I'm beginning to wonder if it means bad news. It's 2066.

Susan - Parent didn't show, sheesh!

happy lunch time everyone!

this is fun, usually i'm not around a computer during the day, weeee
