 That's great news, Dee.

LOTS of pages to catch up on - you guys are going to fast for me. Although, I have to tell you Robin, Post #9032 made me spit my soda out - :lmao: . I also, entered adulthood kicking and screaming all the way. I was a bit of a wild child (OK, maybe more of a derilict, Shanty -Jonathan Edwards was my anthem), but you have me beat. Thanks for the laugh.

I thought I would hear back by now about some transportation options to Pineapple Beach, but have heard nothing...I'm being ignored :confused3. I have made my ressie, but I think I will visit cruisecritic to see what people are using for transportation over there. Last I saw posted was $54 for 1-3 people. I just wanted to let anyone who was interested know, I am still working on it.

T-Shirts.......do I just go onto this site and order what I want? Is the artwork on file? Computer idiot here (not much powerpoint involved in diaper changing these days  ), so step by step would go a long way for this gal  .

Is anyone heading to WDW after the cruise??????
OK, none of you are meeting my middle schooler--he has enough ideas on his own! LOL

T-shirts--Dee said she'll get to them soon, and then we can order.

We're going to WDW after the cruise, but only for a couple of days. We're at OKW.

Hi all

I heard from my mom just a little while ago. My dad is in ICU hooked up to all sorts of machines.

The severity of the heart attack was mild. He is still having (again having) chest pains so they are concerned he is about to have another one.

He also has an infection and is on heavy duty antibiotics. For now they are going to have him on a special monitor to keep an eye on him.

Thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers. It was very strange and unnerving to sit here all alone with no one I could reach via telephone so I sought comfort via the DIS boards. Talking about it helps.

The funny thing is about 4 weeks ago he had a total medical including heart tests etc (he was very sick about 5 years ago where he almost died of blood poisoning) and he goes for regular check-up and got a clean bill of health.

My mother does not drive and she will have to get around with my siblings. She told me to wait until tomorrow and she will keep me posted. For now he is stable.

Thanks again and I'll keep you all posted.

:grouphug:

Denise
Sounds like it's a tough situation, but at least he's being watched and cared for...we'll keep thinking of and praying for your family.

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

And let's not forget the pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

glad to hear tyhat your dad is alright.

Coaching is done for the day and I am off to deliever my kids to their first scuba diving lesson - just for this trip. I hope once they get started they still want to do it? I know i don't. DH is meeting them and taking the course with them even though he is an advanced diver. He says a refresher can never hurt.

Until about 7:30 pt....
Susan

May be less crowded but when were there the parks dont open untill 9:00 and close at 7:00 :sad2: sxcept for MVMCP that we pay extra for so we can party till midnight. Also part of epcoc stays open till 9:30
When you are there the park hrs are till midnight every night...so you will get more bang for your bucks!!! :thumbsup2

Just the cruise for us and that is costing more than we can really afford. I just looked at our finances and things are going to be tighter than I thought until after Christmas :(. Gotta really scrimp, got property taxes due on our rental in another month. Wouldn't be so bad but it has been empty since July! And DH is spending like there is no tomorrow on things we don't need and I can't convince him to stop. Ugh!!! Quick, where's a good get rich quick scheme when you need one???

So are we pretty much decided on the last example of the sign with the name and date on the bottom with the blue background? I see only 3 votes on the yahoo site but they are all for that one.

It sounded to me like everyone liked that one. I didn't go back into Yahoo and re-vote 'cause I thought it was a done deal! :thumbsup2

that's true Robin...we were there this past Easter, and I found the parks more managable then than I did this past summer because the parks were open later at Easter. I think a couple times during Easter Week AK was open till 3AM with the EMH's.

Well, when you find it please let us in on it :thumbsup2 .

Actually, with the cheap timeshare, already being in FL (so no airfare) and our passes already paid for, it really is a pretty cheap extended trip (compared to cruisin).

Hello, Thanks for your invite over to this thread. I'm the single Mom going on 10 day Christmas cruise with my 10 year old son. I was hoping to meet some other single parents. We went last year and had a great time. We sat with 2 other single parents at dinner and it worked out great! L.A.

Welcome! Don't know how many single mom's we have, but there are several 10yo boys (and girls for that matter) and you are more than welcome to join in our craziness here. Check out fabulusk's posts for her link to the Yahoo group and DCLGodess' link to her page with all kinds of info. We have lots of stuff going on..... right now we are working on t-shirts and signs....

Glad you made it over. I have one of the 10 year olds, a boy. There are several boys and girls that age, as already mentioned. We've put them on a web site and most of us let them use our IDs to post--although I don't think they're nearly as active as this group! Still, your child might enjoy going over and saying hi. They're at http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=881173&page=2&pp=15. (I hope that works, otherwise one of these more technical folks are going to have to give you the info.)

Hey Jen, check out Google earth. They have a newer picture of the port! One of the ships is in this time!! And it's nice and clear too!!! :woohoo:

:welcome: Welcome to the thread, BUSYMOM41 :welcome:

I don't know how many single parents there are, but there are some pretty cool 'ole married farts here. I'm not sure what seating you are (early or late), but if you are interested hooking up with some people on the boards for dinner, I am in charge of linking the late seating. No pressure, just putting it out there for you as an option if you want.

This is going to be a great cruise for you and your son :thumbsup2
