12/15 Fireworks !!!

We just got back from a great week at WDW and Boardwalk. On 12/15 we had a letter slipped under our door warning us that there would be a fireworks test at Epcot later that night. During the day we got a phone message informing us of the same thing. At midnight the test started. I never saw such fireworks. It looked like the video we saw from Bagdag in the early 90's. It was so crazy that it set off car alarms in the parking lot over a mile away. We talked to people the next day whose room didn't even face Epcot and they said they were awaken by the noise. IT WAS GREAT!!! If they are planning to replace Illuminations with this show, bring it on.

The show you expereinced was the practice run for the NYE celebration. If was anything like the one we experienced NYE 1999/2000, it was like daylight out! I heard they were doing this.

We were at BC - in the pool at around 11:30 pm. I heard the music for Illluminations and I ran out and ran up to the bridge to Epcot but couldn't see anything - flew back up to my room and could here music but still no Illuminations fireworks - then all of a sudden - BOOM! WOW! it was fantastic - I woke up my mom and dad and DH (yup - early to bed) to watch and we couldn't believe it. No one at the hotel knew what it was but we were told at Epcot the next day that it was the NYE practice.

Definately a treat!
