Since its just going to be son and I, I planned on leaving our home at 4am Sunday, instead of late Sat. I don't want to be on the road late with just my son and I. I have certain things that stop us from traveling early on Saturday. We should arrive in Disney by 10:30 our time, 11:30 EST. Planned on going to AK around 12:30. Plan to have my first FP at 1. Was going to stay till about 5 or 6. AK is not a park I need a full day for. Yes I know that's the heat of the day and yes I know AK gets hot, but that's my plan. :rolleyes1 :D Anyone else gone to AK that late in the day?

I’ll be doing AK afternoons 3 times during pres week. So, yes - but I personally wouldn’t be happy with just one half day during a trip.
If you’re not a big fan of AK, a noon arrival for a few hours is fine - as long as you either have a FP for FoP, or don’t plan on riding.

Thanks @LaurenT ! It's not my favorite park, but I like the atmosphere. Don't plan on riding FoP, my weird motion sickness says no way! :rolleyes1 The Safari, EE, Kali River are the only rides we are interested in. Going to do some meet and greets too. :cloud9:

We like animal kingdom - but our regular touring plan is always to go around mid day and we always manage to do everything as long as we have key FP.

We usually arrive - head to Pandora for a FP around 1, then head to Lion King, then FP for Safari, then jungle trek, then Kali (we don’t usually have a FP for this and wait it out - but sounds like you might), then Everest - once with a FP and a few more times I’m single rider, then grab a fourth FP for primeval whirl, and then dinosaurs stand by. (Usually we cant get dinosaur as a forth but maybe possible for a party of 2!). Hit up some characters and we are done by 6...

We haven’t ridden Navi our last few trips..but we have done it end of night prior to that...

I think you will have a perfectly fine time!

We have arrived around noon to AK many times. Sometimes we go late August through early September and yes, it's hot. But there are places to pop in and cool off a bit. It will be fine.

Thanks for your reply. AK is always the first park we visit when arriving in Disney and just because we're coming in on Sunday and not Saturday evening I didn't want to change that. I know that FPs will make a difference. And I know how to pop into a shop to cool off if necessary. I figured my last FP would be Kali River and then son and I will head back to resort to clean up for dinner offsite! :drive::laundy:

I forgot about the Lion King Show....we might pop in for that depending on the line/wait. I WILL have a FP for Kali, it's going to be the last ride we do. I figure if we get wet, we will be leaving the park for the day anyway and just head on back to the resort to clean up for dinner offsite. I plan to do all our character meets before Kali just in case. We've NEVER gotten soaking wet on the ride, but watch this year be the year it happens and son and I are wanting to meet characters. :rolleyes1 So I'll just save Kali for last...thank you! :rotfl2: Not interested in Dinosaur. It might be a bit intense for my son and I won't do well with the bumpiest and jerking of the car with my motion sickness. Primeval Whirl is also a no....again...motion sickness. :sad2: We will be doing teacups in the MK, so that's where I'll get my spinning in. I know I can handle that ride because so long as no one spins the cup anymore, I'm good. I've already explained that to my son, because I know how his mind works! :lmao:
