Also they have changed the boarding. You now get numbers for a group to board. Someone got there at 10 am & was in group 3. We'll see if they are still doing that mess for our cruise.

Someone else reported they arrived at 10:30 and were given a number 7. The post said hundreds arrived after them and many of those were given lower numbers. I'm not liking this.

OK, this is not going to be a good way to start out this vacation. We are staying at the port to get there early. We have booked the 10 am shuttle to get there early. We need to get our dining changed to early so I know that I need to book it to Sessions to get that done ASAP that day. I will be a SO not happy camper if we are one of the first to check in & are given a high number. I will complain to management right then & there (while DH slinks away with the kids.)

that doesn't sound like an efficient way of boarding passengers at all. if we all feel bummed about this, think how many others who are actually there experiencing feels. like you said, lisa, hopefully by the time WE get there, this mess will all be behind us! Even I feel bad for the people who got there early.

I've been reading about the boarding as well...we were planning on coming over early but now we may make a morning at Disney and come over early afternoon.
What is the point of getting there early now?

We plan to get there early. We LOVE this ship and want to spend absolutely every minute we can on her. "It's my vacation" and I want to enjoy every single minute of it.

Lisa your kids look adorable. I was so surprised we had tons of T orT. I had given away 4 bags of candy in an hour!! Then I was done. The weather was so nice for a Halloween here.

This new way of boarding doesn't sound to cool. If enough people complain about it prior to our going maybe they will change it back.

How did they board before? What do the numbers mean? I have been wondering what time to get to port, now I am starting to get confused

I am going to wait for Barb's report from her 11/5 cruise before getting too upset. If they are handing out the numbers according to when you arrive at the terminal, then I am fine with it. What I do NOT like is the idea of the numbers being distributed randomly, which could mean that the first person entering the terminal could board after the last person entering the terminal depending on the number they were given...like a lottery system. If it is the first way, then I don't have to hold a place in line, which means that I can explore the terminal for the first time. It was always so nice getting to know the people in line around you IMO. You were able to meet up with other DISers too.

Yep, we met other Dis'ers in line too. Started the party early! So, if they give out numbers by when you get into the terminal then maybe we can have a mini dis meet in the terminal for those that arrive early.

To answer the question of how it was: You checked in, got your KTTW cards and then went and got in line if you wanted to board among the first. Some folks looked around the terminal and got in line when it started to move. We would put one of us, with our carryons in line while the other looked around. We got to the terminal at 10:30 last cruise and were about 20th in line. There was a group of Dis'ers that were second.

Hey, I was thinking the same thing Angie! LOL! GMTA! If someone who will be there early can make up a sign for us to locate the area that would be a great chance to meet up. I think that they should have a DISer lounge. Do you think that DCL would give us one section of chairs to deck out in lime green? LOL!

Did I tell you that my uncle and aunt will not be able to go with us? He had knee surgery last week and his doc (meany) said he should not plan on traveling that soon. Made me sad. BUT, once I am on the plane I am sure I will get over it.

hello everyone. Hope I am doing this right. This is our very first cruise. Tig_N_Pooh are my brother and sister in laws. It will be myself, my husband and our 7 year old son. See ya in a little over a month. The rest of the clan should be shouting hello in a few. We were given strict orders to say hi. LOL
