Thank you! I'll share your wishes with him when he finds out about all this.;)

I shouldn't have hesitated and gone for it a while ago. He's such a sweet quiet kid but few friends. He has learning disabilities (Russian orphanage malnutrition) and not exactly a social butterfly so having a big 18th party with friends wasn't an option. He missed our trip to celebrate DH's 60th birthday because he came down with H1N1 the day we were leaving. He was so sick and miserable. That's when I knew this would be the perfect gift for him. I couldn't get a ressie for his birthday weekend. GS said they were booked solid due to a meeting.:rotfl:DAP! His Bday trip starts the 12th with MVMCP on the 13th.

Sorry to ramble and TMI

Sounds like a great birthday trip! I won't be at DAP, but send him all my best wishes for a great 18th birthday! 18 is one of the biggest birthdays in the UK, bigger than 21, since you can vote, drink and legally become an adult at 18, so wish him a happy start to his adulthood! :goodvibes

Thank you Kate, I will. At 18 he can vote and go to war but can't drink:confused3
Peter is a true Peter Pan. He celebrates 2 birthdays. When I was in Russia doing his adoption paperwork I was asked by one of the clerks through my translator if his birthdate was ok with me. I thought there was something wrong with her translation. Evidently that wasn't a firm date. Thinking very quickly and trying to remember late entry dates into schools back in NY I kept coming up with Dec 5th. When we got back to the states I realized why that date came to mind. It's Walt Disney's birthdate! Peter now celebrates Dec 1st as his Russian and the 5th as his American birthdays.

Happy Birthday to your son! My eldest daughter is from Stavropol, Russia. We didn't change her birthdate, but we goofed on her birth town. We didn't understand the translator in the court that asked if we wanted to change her birthplace to Stavropol (the capitol of the Stavropol region). We just stood nervously and nodded. It wasn't until we got the the American embassy in Moscow where we discovered that she was actually born in a small town outside the city. Small details, but I wish I could change it.
