Just popping in for a minute, I'm being very rude and haven't caught up on previous posts because the boss is back from Japan. But, I did want to say that

I got the raise! 8% Now back to my regularly scheduled work, so I can look like I deserve it.

Way to go!!

you'll be glad to hear that I got through today's class without discussing bingo, bananas, duct tape or lime green. Somehow I could not work them into the topic. However, when we talked about how "obeying" is a way of showing love for others, I did consider mentioning our Empress and how a few hundred strangers on the internet show our love by obeying her...

Computer update:


The good news: My laptop is no longer MIA at the Best Buy repair facility.


The somewhat surprising news: It's been recalled.


The very good news: I get to pick out a new computer!


The only thing I'm a teensy bit worried about is making sure the data gets backed up onto a dvd before they destroy the hard drive. The Geek squad guys swear it's a no brainer, but these are the same people who've taken almost a month to realize it'd been recalled.

Yeah for the new computer! But can the library survive without you? They're going to see a sudden drop in library usage. Library funding could see cuts!

We're shoveling down some pasta and meatballs tonight; viola and piano lessons are moved earlier because both DDs' teachers had other cancellations. Just realized that I get to see Dancing with the Stars live tonight!

My family loves gravy on anything and everything. I may have to try this!

okay- this is the latest i've stayed at the office in a very long time. boys are in football practice so i'm gonna treat myself to take out dinner and then sit in the hot tub with a glass of wine.

by the way ---- DH asked me why I've been drinking so much wine lately. YIKES!!! I wonder if I'm stressed from the job?!!1

Welcome back Tana! I hope your trip was great!

thanks Caroline! It was sooo wonderful, this was my first time in the Outer Banks/ VA Beach area -- I got to go to both. I can't wait to go back and take the family this time. I even had a very smooth trip home, unlike 2 of my friends -- 1 was 2 hours late getting into Louisiana, the other ended up getting home 24 hours late -- and had to stay the night in the Atlanta airport. Delta wouldn't pay for a hotel for her so she stubbornly slept in the airport. ACK! I felt so bad for them.

Now I'm catching up, only 24 hours and 30 pages to go... except to see a few threads resurrected!
