DH had to use the van today to take his friend to JFK. DD Dina HATES his truck! When I was taking her to preschool (in the van) I asked her to guess what I would be driving home in today. Her tone and face saying "Not Daddy's truck?!?!" was priceless!! :rotfl:

Then when DH was with me picking her up (still in the van at this point) she asked DH if his truck still smelled! :rotfl2:

Guess she doesn't like the smell of oil, gas, etc of work trucks. :rotfl:

I had a 1977 (or so)Ford Maverick once that our oldest DD and her friends would not ride in unless they had bags on their heads (literally!), but they were 14-15 years old! Funny though, they would cut out eye holes in paper bags then write their names across them. :rotfl2:

Candy Corn Popcorn Balls

Adapted from Kraft Foods, Inc.

15 servings
1/4 c light margarine 12 c air-popped popcorn
10 1/2 ozs miniature marshmallows 1 1/2 c candy corn
3 ozs orange gelatin powder

In a microwavable bowl, combine margarine and marshmallows. Microwave on high for one and half minutes, or until marshmallows are puffed. Stir in dry gelatin powder until well blended. Pour marshmallow mixture over popcorn and candy corn in large mixing bowl. Mix until well coated. Shape into 15 balls with greased hands. Wrap each ball in waxed paper.

This recipe was made in a 1000-watt microwave.

For those who don't have Fluff nearby...

Homemade Marshmallow Cream

Adapted from Unknown

7 servings
2 cup granulated sugar 1 cup egg whites
1 cup water 1/2 c corn syrup
2 c corn syrup 4 tsps pure vanilla extract

Cook sugar, water and two cups corn syrup to 240 degrees. In mixing bowl, beat egg whites and half cup corn syrup until mixed. Beat by hand until light and fluffy. Slowly add hot syrup while beating. When all is mixed beat hard for three minutes. Add vanilla extract.

Yields: 49 ounces (7 seven ounce portions).
