Well, I need some help on this matter. I had my first dress fitting on Saturday, it was great, however, I found out the my slip (big poofy thing going under dress, not sure what it is really called) can not be put into a bag or squished. We are flying down and I will be bringing my dress on the plane, however, how the heck am I going to get this thing down there???????? I was thinking of shipping it but Jennifer, the wedding coordinator said you can't ship it to thier offices and said to bring it on the plane. The ladys at the dress place said that if it gets squished that the measurments for the hemming will be off.....any ideas or suggestions?????

Jody,

As long as you don't put your crinoline (puff) skirt in something like a bread box. You should be ok. I think maybe your dress store has seen horror stories like people who've put them in those space saver bags and then expected them to be full size right away. It would probably even be ok to put in a sturdy box and take with you on the plane. (something like TV size) It will be super light anyway. You could even make a handle for the box with duct tape or something.

Trust me the worst thing that could happens is that your dress may be a little longer than expected. This happened to me because i didn't have my crinoline with me when i got fitted the first time. (my crinoline was a little less puffy than the bridal shop's. I had mine at the final fitting and the dress was just a tadd long.... It was either spend another 40 for their crinoline or take the dress the way it was. (Honestly i didn't have the extra 40) No one at my wedding even noticed and the pictures looked fine.

You'll be fine..... :grouphug:

Duh!! :headache: Becka is on-line!! :scared: Quick! Hide Me!!!!!!!

Crud, I'm using her stolen smilies too!!

peanut butter on toast is yummy, but only with creamed honey on top!

My favorite candy is Smarties... not the American kind but the chocolate ones you get in Canada or England. Oh and Cadbury Creme Eggs... delish!

Fortunately I can only get the Smarties when I go to Canada which is only a couple times a year, and the creme eggs are only sold around Easter. This is a good thing!

To all the DCL experts out there: here's an actual cruise-related question.
As some may remember, my parents have paid for this cruise for us kids/spouses/grandkids. My sibs and I are only covering our own onboard charges/tips and would like to have a way to cover Mom and Dad's as well. Can we have DCL switch their room charges to one of our credit cards? Or is there some other way to manage this? I have a feeling that if we try to do it at check-in it will be awkward (like battling over who is picking up the check at dinner, kwim?) Any ideas?

Candy - I love candy!!

No peeps, orange circus peanuts, etc...

my favorites are
Gold Bears, Skittles, Starbursts, cheap red licorice, and I think I may be the only woman on the planet who doesn't care for chocolate all that much.

"You've Been Booed" 17:42 8-Oct-06
"Dirty Dancing" at schools. What do you think? Pick a side. 05:29 10-Oct-06
"Parrots of the Caribbean" on Ebay 06:24 10-Oct-06
12/16-12/30/2006 Christmas trip dining reservations I just cancelled 17:02 10-Oct-06
"big" screen, where and what to get? 00:40 11-Oct-06
"Christmas at the Fort"? 01:20 11-Oct-06

things that make you go hmmmmm........

Marielle, I believe you can add money directly to their account. Ask the expert for the details. :goodvibes

I told DH last night that on Saturday I was taking the girls over to WDW by myself (he works on Saturday's) he was not such a fan of the idea. I'm a grown woman who can go places alone!

I am going to revisit it with him tonight. As long as I find a tv by 7:45pm I think it will be fine.

I love smarties, the regular kind. Never heard of chocolate ones.

Oh, Cadbury eggs are delicious! I avoid them like the plague though because sooo high in calories and I never feel satisfied after just one.

When it comes to peanut butter there are only 2 kinds I will eat-- Peter Pan creamy and/or Skippy honey roasted. All other brands I do not like.

On a daily basis...you or one of your sibs could go down and ask to pay their charges at guest services (in the lobby). (cash or maybe diff CC)

Of course they will be surprised when no bill comes at the end so you may want to give them a heads up during the trip.... (Could also be ackward if they charge their tips to the room on last night if they didn't realize you guys were paying...)

Or better yet...LISA Lisa, does your person know the best way to handle this......?
