12/09/06 Cruise Continued ~ Pirating Bananas DIS Geekorama Part 2 Part 7

I have had a very stressful day. My DS decided at 3AM that he didn't want to go to preschool today. I literally put him back into be 5 times. He was whining around all morning. I got him dropped off...he was fine the moment he got inside! I headed to Sears to have Eliza's 9 month pictures. She was smiling and happy and the pictures were wonderful!!!!

My DMom went to pick up Jake so I didn't have to rush back home. Anyway, my DMom called me when I was done getting the pics to tell me my cousin (whom I am very close to) was taken to the hospital last night. She is a vet. She was bitten by a cat with a mysterious disease. The skin and fur were pulled right off of the cat when the tech had the scruff of the neck. The tech was freaking out, she was yelling for My DCousin. My DC ended up getting bitten. This happend to her once before when she was still a student at Ohio State. She was in the hospital for 4 days and that was just a healthy cat with a dirty mouth. This time she has no idea what is wrong with the cat. It had to be put to sleep and the head was sent out for testing.

I stopped at the hospital to see her on my way back from the pic's. She was still in the Emergency room. She was admitted...but the hospital is filled. This morning when she woke up her fingers were swollen and the red lines went to her wrist. Now the lines are up to her elbow. She is very concerned because she has no idea what the cat had ( non of the other dr's knew either...they had never seen anything like it before.) and her condition is getting worse. Please send prayers for my DCousin. She is a wonderful person who is in need of any prayers she can get.

Brandi - I'm just catching up...prayers being sent. I hope she is okay.

well I finally took DS to the doctor today. he ran a 102 fever on sunday night, was fine during the day yesterday, fever again last night. I decided the heck with it and to take him to the doctor. doc looks at him as says "he doesn't have strep but let's test him anyways". well guess what, he does have strep, the second time within a month. he can't go to school again tomorrow--DH doesn't have any vacation time left for the year since we are taking two weeks at the cruise. OW, he is 11 so I think I will run into the office tomorrow and grab some things to work on. I had physical therapy yesterday for my back. man was I in some pain today. the therapist said it will get better but you must do your excercises. well I am not about to let my back get in the way of this vacation. well DD just caught a typo in my post, I guess it doesn't hurt to let someone proof it.

hope he's better soon - sounds like my son (the strep - he got it often) - he is 11, too - and he'll be home for a few hours today while I go to work ( he still has 100.2 temp this morning). He wants to go to grandma's - but she is leaving for a 10 day vacation tomorrow, and I don't want her to get what he has!!

Still have never been to a Starbucks. But coffee is for grown ups remember? DH loves coffee though, maybe he's the only grown up here.

I just got The Little Mermaid for DD for Christmas. I will get DS cars.

I bought the LM VHS before the kids were even born. Cars will be for DS's bday.

OOOH I know! Get a 90 minute massage, full facial, have lunch at a really quite restaurant and take a long nap. Ok, I realize this only happens in the willy wonka factory....

Wouldn't that be loverly! Lots of chocolate for me to eat. Lots of coals making lots of heat.......

Good Morning Everyone. I am dying to call my DC...but I know she likes to sleep in. I can't imagine she is actually sleeping in at a hospital....you all know how hard it is to sleep there. I just don't want to call her before she is awake. I will wait until 9 to call her.

If you DS is always getting strep maybe you and his doctor should talk about getting his tonsils removed. I had strep all of the time...at least 7 or 8 times every year! I lived during "don't remove tonsils" era. Anyway, when I was a sophmore in college I got strep and I could NOT get rid of it. I literally was on one antibiotic after another for 2 months. Over Christmas break I had to have mine taken out. When they took them out the DR. said that he doesn't like to remove them while they were infected but since I couldn't get rid of it he had to. That was 11 years ago...I have not had a sore throat since!!!!
