Hey, you know the kids look at this thread from time to time.

Tomorrow is DGS's 17th birthday. While we were at Club 33 his other DGPs had a birthday party for him and they gave him a car!! We knew it was going to happen since they discussed it with us, but what fun to see his excitement! His father (not too involved in his life usually) brought it to him today as he wanted to put new tires on it for him. (DGS and DD lives with us, in case ya'll haven't picked up on that yet). Anyway, he is now the proud owner of a 1981 Toyota Corolla! His other grandpa put a new (well 40,000 miles) engine in it as it had a bit over 100,000 miles on it. It was so fun to watch him when his father brought it over. He also got a $40 gas card from his mom, and a $100 bill for gas from his father. He also got a call from local grocery/department store and starts his first job Wed. afternoon. He is a flying high young man today! No more school bus!, says he!

What an exciting day for him!! Tell him Happy Birthday!

Well, we may be able to convince one of the other poor souls on the ship to stop long enough to take one picture...with each of the cameras. At least a few of those rebels.

I'd volunteer Dh but he is not the greatest with cameras although come to think of it he's a pretty smart guy and not typically that inept. Hmm I bet all of these years of me being the picture taker were a set up. Light dawns over Marblehead - 19 yrs later.

When I was at the beach I went shopping with my GF.(The men were back with the kids) I kept touching all of the pink fluffy fuzzy things. I casually said..I am such a girly girl...I really want something pink and fuzzy...meaning a purse or picture frame...or I don't know something.

Well at my BD party I opened a present from her that said "Use me wisely." She had a pair of pink fluff hand cuffs!!!!!!! I couldn't believe it!

I should have said....if I had the time, energy, and money, I would be a girly girl...since I don't take me for what I am!!!! A tired mess!

Becka - I will tell you next week how this spa virgin makes out! If I survive then you will know that you will make it just fine in Dec.

Finally all caught up. What a long day at work today also. I am so exhausted. It is a crisp 45 degrees here and I just realized I had my office window open - brrr.

Brandi, we LOVE Sesame Place, my kids like those characters even more than the Disney ones. I think it's because when they were younger they didn't watch much TV, just Sesame Street occasionally. We've taken them to SP twice and I would love to take them again but dh is not into it. If I could find cheap flights I would take them myself because they will be too old for those characters before long.

Tana, who is on page 1531 and only 10 more pages to catch up on!

We are pretty close. It is about 2 hours from here. It just wasn't a great day. DS kept having melt downs. I was preggie. It was rainy...beautiful morning then bam....raining! You know how those days can be.

I am pretty accurate and I don't miss so really it doesn't make that much difference. In fact I think DH prefers the bat to the rolling pin - it seems more manly.

Tomorrow is curriculum night. Since we have never really met DD's teacher this will be a good op. We are both so nervous during that time and although I typically can talk to anyone there is something intimidating about the whole setting. Also it's not DH's scene because he won't initiate a conversation. If he is approached or its someone he knows - no problem. Other than that - he'll be by me.
