I wish!
I just had to look up the SonForce program online... oooh! Kind of like SpyKids!

Our church looks AWESOME!!!! We went nutty decorating! My dad had a huge roll of siver "paper" stuff from work. We used it everywhere!!! It looks awesome! We start everyday with an opening skit. I am in charge of that. I am very excited about that whole deal. It will be a great week. (I hope I am still saying that tomorrow!!!:rotfl: )

Tomorrow we start our annual VBS. We are doing SonForce Kids. Is anyone else doing a VBS program?

All of our churches will do a VBS sometime this summer. Our summer camp program will also do this kind of program.

That is cool! Did you have to do any special training to be qualified to do this job? It sounds like a good way to make a little extra money from home.

They wanted a 48 month work history...and you know what that involves...but I listed that I was a SAHM who organized the PTO, moderated a message board with chat, and orgainzed a group of 200 people on a cruise involving creating and updating a website, linking and organizing dining reservations, coordinating an excursion in Costa Maya and keeping the group informed on current plans. :goodvibes I also went into detail about what I accomplished for the PTO but figured that you guys wouldn't appreciate that as much. The typing that I had to do for everything kept my skills up to date and I passed the typing test, then the test work jobs that they gave me.

I did tell them that if I was willing to put that much time and effort into volunteer positions where I did not recieve any pay, I would be certain to commit to a paid position. ;)

Well, the first week of July is the Geek Annual Beach Week here in NC, 7/16 starts a week of dance camp for Kaitlyn to get her started with ballet, 7/30 starts William's soccer camp for a week in the mornings and Kaitlyn's art camp in the afternoons, 8/9 is the only swim session that they can go to every day at the same time. I am also looking into finding a guitar teacher for William.

Lisa, you make me tired just reading about it. ;)

I would hire you in a second!!!!! Just knowing that one little fact about you!!!

We are busy getting ready to sell our place still. We had our two sliding patio doors replaced this weekend.....well, almost. The inside trim still has to be finished. Our nephew is a carpenter and is doing it for us. We got distracted by a family fathers day BBQ so he did not get the trim up. Another weekend, maybe next weekend or the next. I am home this week preparing for a yard sale Fri and Sat. We have SO much stuff! :sad2: Hope to get rid of lots of stuff and maybe make a few dollars. What's left will go to charity for deduction. :thumbsup2

I also have an appt this afternoon to file for legal custody of our DGS 17. When we talked with the University of Montana they told us that even if he moves with us, he will not be a resident as far as tuition until he is 24. They said that where his legal guardian lives is his residence, so they contacted the Montana Board of Education and asked how they could help us. They said that if we have legal guardianship then his residency begins when Dennis' does. :thumbsup2 We have supported him for years and have taken him as a deduction on our taxes, his dad pays a whole $22 per week support which doesn't even cover the milk! :sad2: We talked with both his parents and neither object (DD lives with us also)- he will be 18 in Sept anyway so :confused3 . Ok, more info than you wanted, but I'm feeling chatty and also in need of some prayers that this whole process will go smoothly.

Best of luck with the filing and the whole process, Angie and Dennis... you could tell the officials that you have hundreds of online pals that can vouch for you... well, maybe they wouldn't understand.

That just doesn't sound right... What's in that water in Montana?...

I mean i haven't lived with my parents since i was 19 and supported myself...
Although i know there was a stupid question on my FFA form that told me that i could not claim independent because i did not make over $5,000 in the two yrs prior to College. Well DUH i was only 16 and 17 those years. HS kinda got in the way of working full time..well that and state employment rules for minors. They did finally consider me independent once Devon was born though. Must be one of those idiot financial aid rules for their state.

I don't understand how they could force him to take on another household's residency if he was living and working somewhere else...

I know for PA...Dh's niece/nephew are going to pay instate tuition next year and their parents will be homeless for a few months during their move to Florida (ok not totally homeless but will be living with my Fil since he's going to live with his new wife and their house in PA sold already.)

John...you're an attorney...what say you?

Montana tuition is only 2400 and change per semester for residents. I think these rules are in place to prevent people from moving there, saying I'm 18 and now a resident, getting the cheap tuition at a cost to the less than 1 million total Montana taxpayers and then moving back to where their real home is after graduation. - Oregon in state tuition compares to Montana non resident rates.

Actually these rules are what got Dennis drafted many years ago. He was enrolled at UoM, started school in the fall, then they found out that his parents had moved to California (again!) and they told him that he at 19 was a resident where his parents live, even though he graduated from HS in MT. He tried to fight that battle and was not successful even though he had been working and taking care of himself since he was 17. That is if you can call working at the sawmill taking care of yourself. :rolleyes1 He did not have the additional money to pay out of state tuition, so he dropped out in Oct to work the fall run at the local sugar factory to save enough $$ for winter term out of state tuition. He was living with his grandparents. Well, in 1965, the minute you dropped out of college your name was sent to the draft board  and Nov 29 he got to head off to basic training and in May 1966 was on his way to Vietnam for his first tour.

We do not want Korey to have to deal with more paperwork, and the reality is we have provided for him both physically and emotionally, including giving him guidance and stability, for several years. We just need to take the steps to make it legal.

We even had to fill out all the forms saying Dennis' parents were not financially responsible for us later when he enrolled in CA after getting out of the Army. He was 24 and we were married with a child and still they wanted info about his parents. :confused3

If the judge has any questions when the time comes we will tell him that we do belong to a cult that can verify our character!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Thanks for the offer.:rotfl: :rotfl:

What a wonderful thing to do! Good luck.

What I say is the state makes the rules, and if those are the rules, you are SOL. Every state has their own unique residency requirements for these things, and they are meant to keep people from taking advantage of benefits when they are not bonified tax paying residents of the state, coming there only to take advantage of favorable in-state tuition.

There are states with more lax rules, and those are the states that WANT people to move there just for college.
