Kim, I slept out on deck the part of the final night, the waves just got to me and it was way better out in the fresh sea air. That was in January and it wasn't so bad with the down throw i brought with me, lol.

Pj

The progressive stateroom tour/meet sounds like a fun idea.

Man,

You guys make my head spin with all the posts. I don't think I can ever keep up! I just spent a 1/2 hour just reading.

Here's a good joke for all you ladies . . . I heard it recently on the "Car Talk" guys, when they were reading real ads that were actually in newspaper classifieds. Anyway, this was the ad:

Encyclopedias for Sale

No Longer needed.

Just got married, and wife knows everything! :lmao:

John

By the way Lisa, you should find out if there is a "record" for posts on cruise meet threads. Whatever it is, I think it is about to be shattered.

John

I showed the kids how to make milkshakes tonight. Guess what they want to do next week with at the beach? :)

Well I'll be . . . 47,000 + posts? That thread is aptly named. I promise I will never again accuse you guys of being too chatty. Yikes! :confused3

Lisa, guess what Amy got? An Ice Cream maker. And guess what, we are brining it to the beach. Ice Cream and milkshakes here we come!

Now, lets start thinking about flavors . . .

We went out for ice cream tonight, and the place near us "Handels" has lots of homemade flavors. My new favorite is called "cake batter", and is a flavor that tastes just like licking the beaters when you were a kid and your mom was mixing the cake batter! Mmmmmmmm Mmmmmmm Goooooooood!

Speaking of Encyclopedias: Those of you involved in education (John) and those with older kids. Does anyone buy the full set of encyclopedias anymore?

I used to read them cover to cover but that's just me. popcorn::

When I was studying journalism we were given examples of poor sentence structure. One was....

Jim, a lifetime Negro.

Please no one take racial offence. I said it was a poor sentence.

I absolutely Begged my mom and dad to buy the encyclopedia set when I was a kid and the salesman came to our house. I was absolutely amazed with those plastic pages that showed all the insides of the frog . . . Mom and Dad decided not to buy them - they used to cost a small fortune. The encyclopedia guy kept telling them how much smarter it would make us kids.

So, we never got them. I used to go to the library just to look at them. One time I got a big Natural History book at a garage sale, and read, and read that thing over, and over, and over.

That was the closest we got to encyclopedias other than (and this will date you if you remember them) "How and Why Wonder Books".

Ahhhh, the (as my DW would say "nerdy") memories . . . :)
