No, let them do it. I have heard you should not have conditioner in before hand.

You're not supposed to wash your hair before coloring.

A question for you camera-savvy people...I have a digital camera and want to learn to use its many settings to their full potential...instead of just turning the dial to the green P and shooting...

Any good online sources you would recommend? The manual is NOT a good source...it reads like a camera manual...

Brack? DrHugs? Anyone? Given I have a week to learn how to shoot pictures, your help is appreciated!

IMHO 75% of the features on cameras are useless (or they may have a one time unique application, and you may never use it again).

Two suggestions . . .

Play with it, use all the stuff and see what you can do - you are smart enough and tech savvy to figure most of it out. After all, it takes no film to shoot away.

Do a google search for a camera forum about your camera.

You can already use it on auto, the basics you need is to understand aperture and shutter priority, the ISO speed you want to shoot at, and how to correctly use the flash and lighting.

The rest is for the most part, well, FLUFF.

Good luck - sorry I can't be more helpful, but I don't read the manuals much either, I have picked up my knowledge over the years and many cameras.

Well THAT I can do! But I need to learn the other stuff or I could have just bought a camera like DD's!

DD wants to learn first then teach me how to use it.

DD has officially taken over the camera. I am seeing spots before my eyes. She took a photography class at the beginning of the school year.

Is there a way to display what you are going to shoot on the monitor, or just through the viewfinder? When I told her you have to look through the viewfinder she said, "Ewww, why did you get a camera like that?!?!"

Am I the only one left without docs? Like I've said, our TA got them yesterday and said he'd overnight them to us but I don't have a lot of faith in the guy and I'm getting real antsy waiting.

No docs for me either. But then again that planning package came really late for me too.
