12/04/2010 Eastern MAGIC - CHIP 'N' DALE'S CRUISIN' NUTS

Hey all - We lost one but gained one (couple). Check our cruiser list page and look for DaisyMae. I don't know if they are on the DIS or another board, but please join me in welcoming them! :dance3:

Birthday party 2 was a success... even though we had 3 cancel at the last minute. it was 6 12 yr old this time. They were all in bed by 12:30 and up at 8 (with the time change). I am impressed how well behave both sets of girls were. now bday mania is done again til next Feb. ;) my sons bday is an easy event!!

We have a b.day party this Friday too. It's sort of a Dis theme... 8 13year old boys for pizza, soda & then off to see Alice in Wonderland. Some are sleeping over, some not. Should be fun.:rotfl:

In January, I started a contest with my hubby to get ready for many exciting happenings in our year. We bet "biggest looser" style. I'm down 18 lbs! I may even enjoy the beaches this time around.:wishthirty

Hey Tinkluvr12 - For some reason I did not receive notification of all your recent posts so just now saw them. Congrats on the weight loss! That's wonderful! :thumbsup2

That b'day party for the boys sounds just my style "pizza, soda & then off to see Alice in Wonderland" - if it was diet soda - lol.

Let us know what they think of the film. I have not seen it yet and have heard mixed reviews. But how can a Disney flick with Johnny Depp not be great? popcorn::

Picked up Princess and the Frog, along with the doll they were selling today. My niece is going to LOVE the doll!

Cool! My mom and I saw The Princess and the Frog when on the Magic in January. We both enjoyed it. How old is your niece? Are you giving her the movie also or only the doll? :cutie:

Hey all - Please welcome another new cruiser who joined us today. Check our cruiser list for Mickey's Jedi of Simi Valley CA. :welcome:

She's getting both. She's just 4, so the doll's not getting opened until she's older. The next one is Belle, and her name is Isabelle (Belle for short), guess what's next?

Welcome to the new cruise nuts! I think we are going to have a good time! Congrats for the weight loss, too! Wish I had enough restraint to do it, I just get sooo tempted when I'm hungry. Pass on some tips other than a glass of water or celery, neither do anything to calm the hungry monster no matter what "they" say...

I think I figured out my FE gifts so I'm going to be kept really busy for the next few months and gives me something to do except wait for the all aboard announcement! It's a rainy day here in Florida. Glad we did all our yard work yesterday. Went to Magic Kingdom on Friday and it was lovely. We renued our PAP's and met the button guy on main street. He gave us buttons that said, "Celebrating One More Year" and so we are!

Mailed our renewals for our passports this morning. One thing to cross off the to do list. Makes the cruise seem closer.

I'm happy to share-it's been really life changing so far...

A friend and I have been working with a trainer at our gym and one of his goals is to teach the skills needed to continue success even when my sessions are over. He has us eating 5 small meals with the protein/ carb ratio 2 or 3 to one. It's actually not hard if you're careful. I'm using an online food and fitness log that is part of the Livestrong network. It's free and a great tool. Lance is my hero :goodvibes

A couple of good food items we have found are Carbmaster Yogurt-here it is available at Kroger's Smiths Grocery Stores, Trader Joe's Trek Mix, Precious Cheese sticks and Hard Boiled Eggs. There are lots of others too. Keeping the protein/carb mix right for meals really does seem to help.

I know we've heard it all before but logging the workouts and food really does help as does having a good friend to work out and collaborate with. :yay: Good Luck!

Thanks for sharing tinkluvr12. I have a food log that I am using now. Can't afford a trainer at a gym so that's not an option. We are also limited in our food choices as my DH is celiac and diabetic. Low carbs and no wheat and oats products in the house. Anyway, I am trying, lost 36 pounds since Jan. 2009 but lately, I just feel hungry all the time.

I did well on my last cruise and didn't gain any weight. I ate what I wanted for dinner but really watched every other time I ate. I used to go to the buffet in the morning and ask for a bowl of cottage cheese, they didn't have it on the buffet table. By the second morning, the server saw me coming and just went back to get it, magic! By the way, I love cottage cheese so this is my favorite morning treat. A little later and some fruit, my morning complete.

Wow. Sounds like you're better at the food part than I am. I never intended to do the gym and trainer route either but the gym was way cheaper than we thought and our whole family goes. The trainer was a sign up bonus. I share him with a friend. We actually have fun burning 500 calories. He is very unusual in that he gives us workouts to do on the days we don't see him. We only pay him for one day a week but we get 6 days of workouts. Awesome guy! :cheer2:

Hey, tinkluvr12, maybe we could set up a fitness walk on the cruise or a meet in the exercise room? We could exchange healthy tips with others who might want to do that, what do you think, too much on a vacation or a good addition?

If you set up a fitness walk and it happens to be open to all us Cruisin' Nuts, I'm likely up for joining in myself . . as long as a beanie/plush little chipmunk can come along! I'm really going to make an effort to stick to the Chip 'n' Dale theme throughout this cruise. I'm nutty like that!
