Hi all,

I'm trying to understand a basic concept that I'm not clear on. Let's say I own 100pts at BLT and 100pts at BCV, for a total of 200pts. Then at the 11mth mark I call MS to make a reservation at BLT. But my reservation at BLT will cost 200pts, will they not allow me to make the reservation 11mths prior because I don't own all the 200pts for the reservation at BLT (100 BLT/ 100 BCV)? Would I then have to wait for the 7mth mark to make that same reservation?

You only get the 11 month advantage at your home resort. If you want BLT at 11 months, you can only use your BLT points. You could always book a split stay at 11 months between the two and then at the 7 month mark, try to switch to the other.

Another option would be to use the resorts on alternate years and use banking and borrowing. You could use your current BLT 100 points and borrow next years 100 points for a total of 200 points to use during this UY. Then next year, if you need 200 points, do the same thing with your BCV points. I have seen others with two different home resorts do this and it seems to work well for them.

If you want to book a resort 11 months to 7 months plus 1 day before check in, only home resort points are accepted. So if you want to book BLT in the "home resort points" booking window, you need enough BLT points to pay for the reservation. You could use any combination of current, banked or borrowed BLT points that you own as well as BLT points that you had transferred in to your account from another BLT owner.

I find the term "home resort booking window" a bit misleading. I do not own at BCV but I could book there 11 months out if I had BCV points transferred in to my account from a BCV owner. I prefer the term "home resort POINTS booking window" because it's about having enough of the right points in your account at the time you book.
