San Diego international to Disneyland is only a 2 hour and 16 min drive :rolleyes1

United has round-trip flights from Houston (IAH) to San Diego (SAN) for $119, NONSTOP. Flights from August 2017 to February 2018. Holiday blackouts apply. Origin/Destination reversible. Holiday blackouts applies. No Sunday returns.

Note: Fare is Basic Economy; no free checked/carry on bag, no seat selection, and boards last. Regular economy fare is available for +$20 more each way. United MileagePlus card holders get priority boarding and a free checked bag on Basic Economy fares.

Note: Be sure to search for “IAH” and not “HOU”.

United, don't think so, lol
Did you see today's headline?! They made a woman hold her 2 year old son in her lap & gave his seat to a standby. A big looking 2yo at that- she took a photo! The best part? SHE BOUGHT THE SEAT FOR HIM. 2nd best part? United requires ages 2 and up to purchase seats. Oh. My. Gosh. It was almost as bad as the overheated baby on United story I'd read the week before- well not really the 4 month old baby ended up needing an ambulance (but fully recovered in the end). That Mom is apparently ready to sue & I hope she & baby get a boatload.

Up until last week I'd chalked up all the bad incidents to ridiculous passengers & bad United PR tactics, but those stories were too much. Personally I'd fly United single but not with children unless I had no other reasonable choice after those incidents. At least for now.

OP, nice fare find fwiw! I'm not bashing on you here :) And San Diego is a lot of fun- they have a little zoo there if I remember right... ;)

I'd skip DL and just stay in San Diego. We made our first trip there last month and loved every minute of it. They have that tiny zoo :) and wild animal park. The USS Midway tour was awesome and well worth the time. Even spent a day at Sea World, then the evening at La Jolla Cove. The last thing I expected to see right at the US Mexican border was a large outlet mall, but it works, they were packed. We were pleasantly surprised and will return.

if we're going to be honest, i do consider myself a child lol but other than that, just adults are flying. maybe they will drag me out and have to settle out of court :rolleyes1:crutches:

Why people still voluntarily fly on United is beyond me.
Because some of us just get on the plane, take our seat, and enjoy the flight. They are just getting more attention from the press than the other airlines. They all have issues.

They get more attention than other airlines because they screw up far more than other airlines. There is a reason that Alaska has won the JD Power best airline for the last 10 years in a row. Because they have people running the airline who know what they are doing. It shows when companies like United and Sears hire bean counters to run their companies.

I fly United a lot for work, international and donestic. Only problems I have had with united was when i was running late with connecting flights. And once with a computer system issue that geounded our flight before take off for a couple hours, but got conped fairly. Have had more problems with Virgin and Southwest. I still fly southwest when its personal and cheaper.

I travel a lot and also work as a volunteer with Traveler's Aid at Washington Reagan Airport. The majority of issues we help people with are with Delta, Frontier, and Southwest. They all tend to leave passengers stranded at the airport with no assistance. I can say at least United and American give them food and hotel vouchers. To each their own.

I just hated to see what Smisek did to a once great airline. He almost ran the company in the ground before the board came to their senses and fired him. Oscar is doing better and I hope he can bring the company back to its former glory.
