.................

Sounds like something I had in Feb.

I had been to a sorority party and unknown to the attendees, the hostess and her grandson had been ill the day before. Only 2 of the people who went to the party did not get sick. It was pretty bad - couldn't even keep down water.

I was at the ER with that about 3wks ago after 12hrs of constant vomiting and diarreah. I couldn't even keep ice chips down after 8hrs in the ER.

and I have to tell you I'm still not totally recovered from it. I know people at work had it for a good 6wks before all of the nausea was gone.

I had something like that in the winter. No one else in my family got it. About 48 hours for me, it was HORRIBLE!

DS10 woke up about 5 a.m. yesterday morning saying he didn't feel well. I think he got a bad burger or something (we stopped and picked up a few) after a long day. I only had one, he had a couple. He went back to bed and felt better a few hours later. He didn't eat most of the day though. He had about a half of a sandwich last night, but said he felt better. I think he was more worried about getting sick though, if he ate.

I hope you all feel better soon.

We had mild symptoms night before last and all day yesterday. I'm guessing it's a Norovirus. Every time we've been exposed and all our friends get sick we just get the mild symptoms. It goes through the country in waves. If it's really bad you can get meds to stop the worst of the symptoms.

DH had that a few weeks ago....lasted about 4-5 days
My best friend had it right before that and she was out of work a full week and cancelled out shopping date because she felt so bad.

Luckily I sprayed DH and everything around him constantly....took extra Vit. C and Airborne and didn't catch it (I would have had it for our Las Vegas trip...and no way that was happening).

Hope everyone feels better soon, C. Ann.

Guess I'll look up Norovirus on the web..

Is that book in your signature written by YOU? If so, HOW exciting!!!! :)

4 days for my oldest DD, 4 days for me and 5 days for my youngest. Middle DD and DH escaped it!!

It was awful!! Wishing you a speedy recovery. Take it real slow!!

My youngest DD started with it Saturday and by Sunday night she was fine. Oldest DD got it Monday afternoon, up all night and was better Tuesday afternoon. DH got it Tuesday morning and felt better the next day to go to work. Sadly my grandmother got it Tuesday morning and is still not feeling well.

The only symptons DD's and DH have had is throwing up. Grandmother has had all of them.

So far I haven't gotten sick.

I guess it is going around here. I had to call and cancel my hair appointment Tuesday and the lady said several people called to cancel do to this virus.

i had something like what you describe all last week. no one else in my house caught it. i had no nausea or vomiting, but horrible cramps and diarrhea the whole week. i hope you all feel better soon.

Didja swim in the lake?

If so, you may have giardia. Not good.

Otherwise, it's probably rotavirus. We picked that up on our last trip to Disney, despite using gallons of hand sanitizer, and my 5 year old puked the whole 8 hours home, then I puked for the next two days.

The absolute best anti-nausea medicine, bar none, is Zofran.

You will kiss the ground I walk upon and thank the gods you discovered this drug (used for chemo patients, mostly, to help with nausea) because it's SOOOOOO much better than fenergen.

The good doctors at Celebration hospital gave it to me the FIRST time I picked up a stomach bug at Disney, about 4 years ago.

DS9 was vomiting and having diarrhea the day after Memorial Day. He felt a little better Wed & Thur of that week, then Friday he had more stomach issues but no more vomiting. He seemed OK after that.

Yesterday he was sick again! Vomiting first thing in the morning, then diarrhea. No fever either time, and yesterday he actually felt better by lunch time. Today he is fine.

Today the little guy I nanny vomited all over himself in the car on the way back from Target. I knew it was coming because his lips were white and he was making strange noises. He is 2, so he isn't good at verbalizing that he is going to throw up. I thought MAYBE we could make it back to the house, but the stop lights were conspiring against us. He barfed about 6 houses down from his house. As soon as I took him inside and changed his shirt he said "Go nap." He got into bed and slept for 3 hours. This afternoon he seemed fine.

A couple of months ago I had some weird stomach thing in the middle of the night, but I was fine the next day. Tired, but not ill.

I think there is a lot of stuff going around right now. When DS was sick the first time DH was buying Gatorade, Sprite, and crackers and the lady at the check out said "Oh, somebody at your house has that virus." Obviously DS wasn't the only one!

Hope everyone feels better soon!

DS4 and I both had a mild case last week, in 24 hours we were fine. DH has had it for 48 now though, and is still feeling terrible. It is kind of strange, because DH NEVER gets sick.

And now I need to go do another round of Lysol.....don't want to get it back!

DH says it has been going through his office this week. He has had a very mild case, luckily.

My parents both had this a few weeks ago. My Mom even stated that it was the sickest that either of them had been in the 30+ years that they have been married. They both ended up in the hospital for IV's because of getting so dehydrated. It took them each over a week to start feeling better, and a few weeks to get back to feeling completely better (getting their energy back, etc).

Hope you are feeling better soon!!

Y U C K, we all had it starting about 2 weeks ago. :grouphug:
