I am sure this has been asked before, but for the life of me can not find any clear answer when searching past posts and boards. We currently own at SSR with 220 pts. We were curious if we purchased an add on at another resort or resale lets say at OKW for 50 points, would we only have the 11 month window at OKW up to 50 points or can we use up to 270 at OKW at 11 months? Hopefully this question makes sense. I was curious if this is not possible and your only allowed up to 50 points, how others go about booking at 11 months who don't have enough points at that resort for their entire stay? Thanks so much in advance to all for the help!

Your 50-pt add-on would only have the 11-month advantage at that resort.:sad2:
Some folks bank/borrow with their smaller contracts so as to get a longer vacation.
Others do a split-stay between their resorts. :)
And many go ahead and book their add-on resort for the allowed 11-month reservations, book their other resort for the remainder, and then call at the 7-month mark to try to get the whole time at one resort. :thumbsup2 (And if they can't, they put themselves on a waitlist.:goodvibes )

Oh, I forgot to put in a very common occurrence.....................they wind up buying more points at their 2nd resort. :lmao:

Bill, you can only book at the 11 month point with the points you have at that resort, so in your example you could only use 50 OKW points at the 11 month mark. You would have to wait until the 7 month mark to add your SSR points into the OKW reservation.

Many people who have smaller contracts decide to bank them into the next year, then borrow from the following year as well. So your 50 OKW points could turn into a 150 point vacation every three years.

Some people also make a 50 point reservation with OKW points and reserve SSR for the rest of their stay, hoping to be able to "switch" to OKW at the 7 month mark. Sometimes that's successful, sometimes not. You'd have to decide whether you would be willing to move resorts mid-way therough your vacation.

Hope you have a fun time on your next trip!!
