Quick question! Why at 7.45am did it say my full 7 night trip (11 month out) was available but at bang on 8 it went to only 6 nights with the 11 month date taken? Only that one date?

And looks to be the case for the month of March, a few random 1 nights booked?

Do I book the 2 nights before in the hope the others become free?

1) Somebody beat you to it.
2) Somebody already had the 18th booked so could add the 19th prior to 8:00 by modifying the date they already had.

Looks like you were trying to book an AKV Value Studio. Those reservations are hard to come by right at 11 months. Chances are pretty good that there was only 1 studio available for that particular night and someone else's internet connection was faster than yours.

I assume these are Animal Kingdom Value rooms?

People are walking their reservation.

Plan on never actually getting an Animal Kingdom Value room. It's darn near impossible.

It's also possible if you didn't refresh your screen at 8am Eastern. If not, you will get some type of failure message,be wise the system thinks you are trying to book before the window.opened. If you were trying for something popular & limited, someone else who did refresh, could easily get the reservation instead of you.

AKV value rooms are a mirage. You think they exist and you see one from time to time, but when you get close, it disappears.

Caveat: I actually did get one once for 4 nights, but it was only because I wasn't actively looking at it. It just sort of fell into my lap when I was trying to figure out how to use a few points before they expired.

Yes, pick up the 2 nights and check each morning. If people are walking, you might be able to follow behind them. It's worth a shot.

Although I've gotten value studios at AKV many times over the years, I consider it a bonus when it happens and definitely don't count on it.

I'll say it again. Standard view is also a great bargain and much less stressful to book at 11 months. No worries about people walking or how fast your internet connection is.

Haha I have slightly diffeent view on value of standard view. If I can get value room that’s the best deal in all of dvc to me. When I can’t I convince myself “it’s not that much more to upgrade from standard to savanna view” so I tend to upgrade. I think standard view is the only view I’ve never actually booked lol.

Studios and 2BR are impossible. 1BR are shhhh - I can't say any more.
Now I'm wondering what you mean about the value 1BR. My first DVC stay was a Kidani 1 BR, which was great, but they are a lot of points per person staying in the room. Great for 4 people! If my next trip is for 6 people, I'd be tempted to try for a value 1BR for the space and kitchen and bathrooms and add a standard studio for the rest of the family. (It's a lot more points than the elusive value 2BR.)

The value 1BRs at Jambo give tremendous bang for the buck and they are much easier to book than the value studios.

Not quite the same question, but similar 11 month issue. I tried to book 7 days commencing May 3, 2023 but the calendar will not allow me to go beyond May 3, 2023 for any amount of days. . .stumped?

Is May 3, 2023 unavailable? If it isn't available to be booked, then you cannot book any of the following nights. As of today, 06/03/2022, you can book a reservation which starts on or before 05/03/2023. You cannot book a reservation that begins on 05/04/2023 or later.

ETA: If you're trying to book at a non-home resort, you cannot do that until 7 months out from the first night.

5/3/23 is available and I could book it and this is at the home resort. The calendar will not allow me to book dates beyond the 5/3/23 date. Now when I check 5/3/23 - 5/3/23, I get:

No Resort Available

Invalid date range

Where before I was able to proceed with the one day.

If I go back to 4/26/23 - 5/3/23, it works fine. I could book. To further complicate, if I proceed as if booking, I can change the dates on that screen and move forward to. I am thinking glitch.

There have been a few times where the calendar was showing nothing but when you chose the dates it did let you proceed.

If you have 5/3, it should allow you to modify and pick up the rest. Just chose the dates on the calendar again and see if it allows you to proceed. If not, it’s a glitch and may require a call to MS for them to do it for you.
