11 month window - call each day or wait for entire stay?

When your 11 month home resort window opens up, do you typically call as each day of your vacation comes within the 11 months or do you wait until you reach 11 months from your check out day and then book it all at once?

And as a follow-up question, if you call each day to add a day is it that many different reservations numbers that you have, or is it all tied to one?

IMHO, you need to call day by day at the 11 month window only if you -

Are a BWV owner and want a standard view or a guaranteed Boardwalk view

Are an OKW owner and want a Grand Villa

Are a BCV owner and want a dedicated 2 bedroom with 2 queen beds in the second bedroom

Are a VB owner and want a Beach Cottage

Are a VWL owner and want something between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day (possibly - odds are you could get this with one call more often than not).

Are a HHI owner and want a studio or a 1 bedroom for the summer vacation period

There shouldn't be a problem getting anything else with just one call at the 11 month window. For right now (and the forseeable future), nothing at SSR would require making reservations day by day.


If you decide to do day by day, tell the MS CM what you are doing. They will hold the confirmation letter until you have the last day reserved and then you will only get one letter with one confirmation/reservation number.

Actually BWV for Boardwalk view can probably be done in one call. I get a couple rooms (Boardwalk view) every year for Food & Wine with 1 call. I suspect Standard View might need day by day. First week of December might also need it - I only have experience with Oct and Nov.

I just became a VWL owner in early March. I called as soon as I could and got a studio for a week in December.
