11-mo opens on New Years Day? Transfer?

I just checked the calendar and realized the 11-mo window will open the morning of January 1st. (ugh).

The complication is that we are hoping to transfer in points to cover a 2BR with some extra family members too.

Have I read correctly that I would need to find a transfer with the same UY in order to see online (since I am assuming I won't be able to call in the morning of NY? or are they open?). I know I need same resort and compatible UY but if I won't be able to call in at all that day I would need them available online...

I suppose as an alternative I could just borrow all my points from the next UY and transfer in at a later point to cover...that might be easier now that I type all this out. Just financially cleaner if I could do the transfer since we're planning on passing that cost on to my brother...

So your trip is for Dec 1st? Yes, you will need a transfer from the same resort, with the same UY.

It's true that transferred points only show up online if they are from the exact same resort and exact same use year. If you are worried about making the reservation, go with the alternative you suggested. You can still look for a transfer now for either your current or next use year and ask your family member to pay based on that. Good luck!

The same resort (of course for the 11 month window) and the same UY should allow you to see the points online. However assuming you have enough of your own points to cover at least a couple of days you can just book those days and then call on the 2nd to add the additional days on with the transferred points. As long as you get the first couple of nights the room is locked in to your stay and you'll be able to add the nights.

Agree with Kat4Disney. If you cannot get transfer with both same use year and resort as yours, which would allow you to do the reservation online on Jan 1, you can try booking what you can with own points online on January 1 and then calling January 2 to add nights (MS is closed on Jan 1). One issue is whether you really need to book Janiuary 1. You mention 2BR. You will likely need to book for Dec 1 at exactly 11 months out if seeking BWV standard or boardwalk view, AKV value or club level, or BLT standard view. For other 2BRs, you will lilkely have time beyond 11 months out during which to book.

Thanks for the help everyone. Yeah, I am hoping to get a 2BR standard at BLT and know I will need to be there the morning of 11 months to try to snag it. But the idea of just adding the days later is helpful too. Now I have some options to play around with, so thanks all.
