I'm looking into prices for our trip for next august. We are planning on traveling Aug 20 - 30, 2010. We plan on visiting parks each day - including arrival and departure days. This would be 11 days total. However, it looks like you can only get a 10 day park hopper. What would i need to do get the 11th day? Do I have to buy another 1 day ticket at $60-something dollars each?

Thanks for the help!

You could buy an Annual Pass. See if it's cheap enough. I don't remember the new pricing.

Any other suggestions? I'm going for 11 days 3 weeks from now and was wondering the same thing. Even with adding park hopping, it's still a fair bit cheaper to buy a 10 day and a 1 day, which seemed a little odd to us.

Thanks,
Heather
Pop Aug 29-Sept 8!

Unfortunately, as you discovered, 10 days is the max on a ticket. If you really want 11 park days then you will need to purchase a seperate one day ticket (and unfortunately they're $79 each, plus tax). If you're going to be taking another trip within the next year you might want to consider an annual pass.

Otherwise, you might just want to try to get away with only 10 day tickets. Going to the parks every day... especially for 11 days in a row can get pretty tiring and you may find you want to take a day off somewhere. At the least, I would suggest going in with your 10 day ticket and using it. If you really go every day and you find that you want to go to the parks on your departure day, then purchase a 1 day ticket at the gate. The cost will be the same whether you wait or do it now, and if you find that you did take a day off and don't need it then you will have saved the money.

The other thing you might want to consider is adding the water parks option to your tickets. That would only be $52 (plus tax) and would get you 10 entries into the water parks or disney quest. You might be able to do one of those instead on your off day.

We're doing the same thing this December, and are going to do ten days in the park and one at DTD.

I don't know if this would work or not. Does anyone know if they can add a day later on, and just pay the incremental $3?

Like if they get their 10 day ticket, use 3 days of it, so now they have 7 days remaining, can they take it to guest services and add one more day, making it an 8-day ticket now?

If you can't do that, I would plan an off day in the middle of the trip. You could spend the day at a water park or your resort pool, rent water mice, bikes or go horseback riding. Then play mini golf, go to DQ, DTD, HDDR, SofA or a resort character meal that evening. Or depending on your arrival/departure times, skip the park on one of those days and choose one of these options.

For Heather, since you'll be there for the first MNSSHP, you could skip a "day" at a park, do a water park or hang out at the pool, then go to the Halloween party that night. It will still be a little pricey, but not as much as a one-day ticket.

Good luck!

If you add the Water park option, the days you use quest, golf, downtown and the water parks DO NOT count as a day. So you could pick a day in you trip to do these activities and not go to a theme park.

This is not allowed. A 10 day ticket can not have days added, even after some days have been used.

No, that's not allowed. The maximum total number of days that can be put on a MYW ticket is 10. Once 10 is reached, you can't add any more days regardless of whether you've used any or not. :)

We called Disney about adding an 11th day for our upcoming trip and this is what we were told. According to them you can add and extra day at the guest services or the park ticket booths at a cost of under $4. We have 10day park hoppers.

The max days you can ever have on a ticket is 10 so this won't work.

This is what we do. We go for 12 days and just have 2 designated water park days. We also do DTD and dine at some of the resort restauarants on those "off" days.

If water parks are no good, I agree with the above comments about having an off-day. There's still plenty to do and its a good excuse to really enjoy the resort you're staying at.

Curious, that is not what we were told when we called disney to ask. I guess we will find out in 11 days from now.

I saw you say this in another thread. That information is wrong. If you're able to do it, more power to you, and please come back and report. But that CM did not know what they were talking about.

Unfortunately, Disney's telephone representatives often give incorrect information. Unless the policy has changed with the recent ticket price increases, you will not be able to add an eleventh day. If you're successful doing so, please let us know. :)

If we try to add the extra day I will let you know how it goes. Maybe I'll' try to add it just see what happens....i'm curious now.:thumbsup2

Have you thought about something off-site? (Sacrilege!) If you can afford it, SeaWorld is a really great trip, or (Heaven forgive me)...Universal Studios! There's also a Nick World in Orlando, and lots of other places to try. I know.....we want the Magic! I agree. I def don't think Universal measures up, but just a thought. Ignore this post.

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be an easy (inexpensive) way of adding an 11th day.
2 years ago we actually had an 11 day Disney trip. By the 7th day we were so dead tired, that the scheduled day off was very welcome. What we did on that day off is visit (leisurely) the various Resorts (the fact that it was Christmas time made it even nicer to see the different decorations). What's funny is that my wife still considers that day off as one of her favorite days we spent the entire trip.
So unless you feel like you really need to visit parks the entire 11 days, I would really consider giving yourselves one day off in the middle. Recharged batteries (and rested kids) go a long way in helping to ensure a successful vacation.

11 days visiting the parks every day = no fun. Take a day or more off -- your family will thank you!

You can add up to 4 days onto a 10 day park-hopper pass, but ONLY at the parks ticket centers. I believe the price is $3 dollars for each additional day. I'll find out tomorrow morning when the ticket office opens at 8:30. So, stay tuned.......popcorn::
