we booked this and have decided to cancel. for an extra 4 nights we get to pay over 3x the cost of the January 7 night southern out of San Juan on the Wonder in 2018.
But - Longer Cruises are great. This one has a nice mix of sea and port days. The TransAtlantic and Panama Canal cruises have a LOT of sea days - which are great too!! The longer Mediterranean cruises are port intensive - and in the summer heat, it got to be tiring. Northern Europe 12 night was a nice combination of Sea and Port days.
They will most likely have the normal 7 night menus, along with 4 special menus. There will be the normal 3 production shows, probably a "welcome aboard" show and lots of variety acts.
With more sea days it will make it easier to book Palo brunch and you probably can get a second one if you want.
They probably will offer many of the daily (sea day) activities multiple times, so if there's a conflict at one time, you possibly will have another time to participate. Note: the "hardest" thing about a
DCL cruise is deciding what NOT to do!! You can't do it all - especially when there are 3 different things going on at the same time.
I don't remember the ports for the 2018 off of the top of my head, but we had a lot of fun when we took the S Caribbean cruise a few years ago and many of the islands are "repeats". And the Fantasy is a cool ship - so there won't be a boring moment either on land or at sea!
Sunscreen, "Big Hats" and LOTS of Water will be a must on this cruise - Summer in the Caribbean - Hot, Humid, Sunny. Take Care of yourselves! Sunburns and Dehydration will make this cruise way less enjoyable.
