Hi Lisa,
hope you have your test results back so you can get to feeling better soon.
Keeping fingers crossed about the economy, as Dawn said, you have along time before you need to cancel. You will get 100% back if you cancel 60 days out. Thats 10 months away. Things can get better by then
Just try to put a few dollars payment each months on it and when its finally at the point of 60 days, it should be so little left to pay that you will make it.
we have not booked yet , but as soon as we get back from the 08 cruise I am saving everything I can until next year when they would release the Florida resident rates. Hopefully we will have enough to book it then.
I have always used my disney credit card to build disney points to defer costs but it is only 1%. I think we will get a regular Credit card that offers 3% back, then use that towards the cruise.
I charge groceries, gas, drug items, anything I can. Each thing I charge is my normal pruchases, NEVER buy anything I wouldnt of spent cash on.
When I charge something I take it off in the check book as if I had paid cash.
I keep track of all the purchases and when the Credit card bill comes each month the money is there to pay it off 100%. So no interest but it builds the points really fast that way. I figure since I am going to be buying those items anyway I may as well get the points for it to use towards vacation.
also I save every coin we get and i find onthe street.(Greg thinks I'm crazy picking up coins) all $1 are saved and now and then I throw in a $5. You dont miss the ones and it adds up fast. we dont carry a lot of cash, but i always take out $40 each payday cash in case I just need milk or bread or for the laundry. when I break the bill, all ones go to the envelope and I NEVER use them.
Hundreds of dollars in a years time.
Maybe one of these ideas may help you. We are on a really tight budget for now since Greg was laid off the first of the year. Now that he is working we are still budgeting really hard, so we can take vacations still.
I love a challenge, so this is my challenge for the year. To save up for the cruise. I never have 100% but if its close enough we can still go and pay the rest off in a short amount of time after we return.
I also have a 2010 to pay for. so I am double saving.
at the end of the 09 I want to book a cruise on one of the new ships, which ever comes out in 2011 if I can.
who knows if I can afford it by then, but everyone has to have something to look forward too. Life is too short to worry about all the bills. If i have to make a few payments after we return, thats ok. My memories are well worth it.
Hope you can find a good way to budge ttoo so even if the exchange rate is bad you'll still get to come.
Dont be afraid of making those small payments each month, you can get 100% back like I said. Look at it like a savings account for the year.
Can you tell I really want you to get to come
Kathy
