Oops I forgot :grouphug: to Denise and DBW tell your daughter to stay safe and thank you from all of us:flower3:

Wendy,
Thanks, it is good to know you like the bed. We have thought about going to a hotel that has them to sleep on one all night.

Pretty quiet here today.

Hope someone has some exciting news to share today. We need to perk up this board!!!

Linda should be getting off the Wonder about now. I think she is going straight home, but not sure. I'm sure we'll hear from her soon.

Kathy

we went out and got boots, goggles and gloves for riding the ATV's. Also tire repair kit and tie downs and a tow rope, just in case.
Kathy

Kathy, I didn't see any mention of helmets here. Don't make me get out MY whip!

Bob, relax, we do have helmets, in fact 2 each!!!:cool1:

When we bought the ATV's Greg insisted they throw in a couple of good helemts or he wouldnt buy the ATV's, so they did. They are the ones with the full chin protection and face shield. $150 each if you were to buy them, so we got a great deal!!:thumbsup2
But they are very HOT for Florida most of the year so we also bought 2 open face helemts with shields and we bought goggles for extra eye protection. Plus we signed up for a safety class at the end of the month!!:yay:

At our age you gotta think safety first!! One good crunch and you may never fully recover or it could take a long, long time.
See I'm not as dumb as I look:rotfl2: I know that could be debated:rolleyes1

Have a great day,

Kathy

 OK, I've read and read and haven't found the answers. Can anyone help? This pertains for the boys (11) :confused3

1. For the semi- and formal-attire dinner nights, how far do I need to go to dress the boys? Do I need to buy them dress shoes just for the cruise? I am already buying 4 to 5 pairs of sneakers a year! The boys only wear collarless shirts if I buy a polo and button down dress shirt...if that enough? :rolleyes1

2. If the boys are allowed to sign themselves out of the Lab by themselves...how do they find me? Do two-ways work on the ship?

3. I've read these hints but haven't found them in detail: :scratchin

a) Buy a refillable mug? I've only read that soft drinks are free at the beverage station and at dinner.
b) When you deliver coffee to the room, is this free or is there a charge?
One person said to order it in the evening and it will stay warm until a.m.? I am a coffee drinker and do like it first thing. :coffee:

Thanks for the help. I know...I'm a planner...like to have my ducks in a row! Dawn

Morning all:

Well just got back from the airport. Daughter is now in Atlanta, and that is as much as I know. I will not here from her now for a couple of days, when she is fully back.....its always hard when she leaves. Even Louie knew this morning she was leaving for good again.:sad1: Since she has been home and she goes out....he will run up and she says bye and he comes back down to me...this morning he was trying to get out the door and follow her......these dogs are so much smarter than we thinks..... I really felt bad for him.....he's gonna miss his "mom". :sad1:

I'm just going to do a few loads of :laundy: and do dinner.....thats it for today.

Have a good day everyone and will be back later

Denise:banana:

Good morning!

Not much happening here today. Jeff, Denise -- great pictures!:thumbsup2

Jeff -- where will you be staying in Maui?? We've talked about going back there again some time, but we have Vegas in February, Ashville, NC in July (company trip), and of course, DCL in November. Not much time left for another trip!!!!

Hi Cheri -We are going to split our trip with a week at the Kea Lani in Wailea and then a week at the Hyatt in Kaanapali. I'm ready to leave... NOW. :cool1:

Hi Dawn,
Ok dress for the boys will vary from family to family. Our GS was 12 on the last trip and he wore dark colored khakis and a dress shirt and tie and dark colored dress shoes to dinner everynight accept pirate night. He fit in just fine, he never felt out of place. I did see some boys in suits tooOn the other hand we say entire families in Jeans on formal night. So what ever you are comfortable with will be just fine.
If I were to make a suggestion, I would say khaki's or dockers and a pull over or button up shirt for everyday accept pirate and formal night. Formal night I would say slacks, dress shirt and if you want to really dress them nice add a tie. On formal night I would say most had dress shoes on accept those who wore jeans, which did look bad on formal night.
Also if the boys arnt interested in formal night the buffet is open from 6:30 to 8:30 that night. It is not set up like a buffet, accept the salad bar. You are seated and waited on. They could do that, it is casual dress every night.

I have seen people using little radios, dont know what kind or how good they work. Most just have a message board on their door or inside where the kids leave a note saying where they are going and when they will return and the parents do the same. kind of on the honor system.

The pop is free on deck 9 and the restaurants so I wouldnt worry about brining your own mug. It is very easy to get more pop whenever you want. It is open 24/7 for pop, coffee, tea, milk, hot cocoa too. For sanitation reasons they prefer you use a new cup each time, but if you want your own cup they wont say anything.

coffee is free from room service, tip optional. I have also heard it will stay hot in the caraffe they bring it in. But to make sure you can always order it the night before to come to your room at a specific time in the a.m., so it will be fresh and hot or go up to the drink station to get a cup when you want.

Hope this helps some, others may have more to add,
Kathy

Kathy,
Thanks for the advise...that's what I'll do. I just wish that they could wear something more than once before outgrowing it! ;)

Hi Dawn,
My kids have used walkie talkies while we are on the ship and they do work-sometimes though we found that they don't hear us-now whether that is because they have tuned us out or not I'm not sure :rotfl2: Hope this helps.

Raining here in PA-sad too since the EAGLES lost :sad1:

Been doing my favorite thing this weekend: :laundy:

Have a great one everybody.....:cool1:

Okie sorrry your Eagles lost, NOT my Saints needed that win really bad.

Dawn my son is 12 and if you look at my trip report you will see how he dressed for dinner most nights. he had on dockers and polo type shirts except for pirate night when he wore black jeans and a white tee shirt and
formal nigt where he did wear a suit. he wore topsiders to dinner each night except formal night.
Hope that helps

Ditto on all that Kathy already mentioned.

We ate dinner one night at Topsiders and it was FANTASTIC!:thumbsup2 They turn the lights down(in fact a server had to bring a flash light for one couple!!) and offer table service. When we were there, it was the same menu as in the dining rooms. The only difference was that we could go to the salad bar. Had we wanted all the other appetizer choices, they were available. They also offer bar service, etc.

You are supposed to tip in cash (I got that info from the DIS). I highly recommend a trip to Topsiders. Did I mention how wonderful our server was??

good morning everyone,
we were at the bottom of the page so thought I would bump us up.

We are expecting another beautiful day here in Florida today, in the low 70's.
well gotta go and get a baby gift today. That will be the second one within a week. Both boys!!!

I will check back later to see what is going on here today.
Hope everyone had a good weekend,

Kathy

Good morning everyone. I hope that some of you are getting to enjoy the holiday. I am at the office, but not really working hard.

Well, today we are starting off with temps in the low 60s and headed to 72. Of course, our overnight low of 48 will be our high tomorrow, so it is going to be a drastic change.

Have a great day!

Good Morning all :coffee: ,

Today is a stress-ful day....literally. DH has to go for a stress test-just found out he has high blood pressure....200/110 :crazy2: yep the number is correct...now we need to make sure the old ticker is in good shape...wish him luck....

Very foggy in PA...can't see the house across the street :confused3

Trying to figure out if we should :drive: to Fla in November or Fly--airfare seems to be much higher this year :sad2: ....anyone found reasonable airline or specials??? Even thought about the train...kids never did that yet...any suggestions????

Good Morning all, we are still alive here in Missouri. Most of the city has been without power since Friday. We have power at the office so I wanted to stop by and say hi. Think warm thoughts and send them our way. God I miss the islands.

Tonya, glad you are OK..Ya'll take care

Okie, pixiedust: for your husband, I hope everything turns out well. Where in Pa are ya'll from, we aretaking a trip there this summer and will be in the area for 2 weeks.

Bob, we are having the same weather here today, DS is off from school so we are having a lazy day

Michigan got hit last night by the ice storm. We have electricity in Kalamazoo but all around us our without--Grand Rapids and Battle Creek. Suppose to snow on top of all that this evening. My boys had the day off already but most of the schools were closed. Branches down everywhere. I see one BIG limb on top of the play center.

We always drive to Florida. I have historically had a terrible time leaving Michigan on flights in the winter time. Driving I can control to an extent because if I see a storm approaching I leave early and if there is one when I want to come home, I just stay longer. :yay: We usually make it one long day and then to Orlando by 10 a.m. the next morning. Make lots of tapes for the boys to watch and we have a PS2 adaptor also. They don't mind a bit. I miss going through the mountains if we don't drive. If I could skip Georgia, that's where it gets looonnnggg.
