Hey all,
Just finshed the chocolate pizza, lots of yum but so sweet I would definately save it for a party, one bite put me into a sugar high!
Criminal MInds is so grizzly tonight I am not watching it closely... every family's nightmare. Guess I'll go change the bedsheet and tuck in for the night.

I went to a nutritionist two years ago and lost 20 lbs, unfortunately I have put it all back on. This is the program I followed:

Everyday:
80oz of water a day (with real lemon juice in the morning)
5 fruits
5 oz a veggies
9 oz of protein
3 oz of starch
Also took a multi vitamin, acidophilus, Vitamin C and calcium

The problem I am having it that I am not writing down all my food and I'm not see her 3 times a week. It's just so expensive and time consuming. I keep saying I'm going back but I haven't:sad2: I actually have to get a new formal dress because the one for the cruise is just not going to fit.

All joking aside...anyone have any weight loss tips they are willing to share...I am eating right & exercising...what else can I do...to loose my last few pounds...I was thinking about drinking 5 cups of green tea and 8 cups water with lemon a day...has anyone ever try that?

You could try a plateau breaker and then go back to what you were doing - for three days, do the following: only eat raw green vegetables (or lightly steamed if you can't handle that many raw veggies) and protein - I prefer rotisserie chicken as my protein of choice, and during this time you can even eat the skin if you'd like. Just no tuna or red meat. You can eat as much protein & raw green veggies as you want. Use low sodium salt, cut out all diet sodas, drink 80oz of water, limit yourself to 2 cups of coffee/tea per day. Have 1/2 orange in the morning, another at night. Only lite dressing (2 tbsps per day) but watch the salt & added sugar. Oh, and you can have two high-protien snacks per day - I like South Beach Diet bars or something similar - basically anything less than 140 calories. You most likely won't lose any weight during this period, but it's designed to kickstart your metabolism again and get you on your way again. I have some other ones but I think this is the easiest.

I weighed in today...went up 0.2 1bs...which really stinks because I stayed the same last week and I had a great week so I really expected to lose. Oh well...to cheer myself up, I skipped the gym. :yay: Perhaps not my best choice.

Chistine, I wish I could take back the chocolate pizza! Since Paul died 5 years ago, I have put on 30 lbs. Then joined several weight loss programs, 2 gyms, and a personal trainer. Still over 30 lbs up. so, guess it is time for some new clothes and lovong myself as I am because I too cannot get motivated to lose the weight.
We'll drink about it on the cruise.......

I wish I could help you, I'm struggling to lose my last few pounds as well. It gets really hard when you get close to your goal. Can you somehow up your exercise a notch? That usually works for me, my problem is I haven't been DOING it.....

Gayle (Oprah's BFF) did an interview with some weight loss guru and he said that we should skip the cardio and focus on the weight/strength training - apprently it really works because a lot of ladies were calling into the show and swearing by it...I think I'm going to try that. Oh, and apparently muscle burns more calories than fat, so as you increase your muscel mass, you'll burn more while toning up...meaning I can eat one more brownie, although Devin says that defeats the purpose. I told him to be quiet.:rotfl:
 
The Rainforest - is that something we can only book once onboard? If we book a massage or some other treatment, do we get to use the Rainforest?

Have you tried slimfast? The chocolate shake goes great with a double cheeseburger...:lmao:

I know you said all joking aside, but I couldn't resist. If you have looked at the cruise list, you can see I have no advice for loosing weight. I did loose about 50 pounds once an the Adkins diet. I told Staci I was so proud of myself, I have gained it all back so I could do it again:rotfl:

I'm sure if I had been through what you have I'd have gained a lot more than 30 lbs. I sure gained more than that with my pregnancies!;) Whatever weight I am at when we are on the cruise, that's where I'll be, and I'll just be thrilled to be on the cruise! :banana:
 
I keep looking at the "Pics of DCL food" thread. I already have a list of things I want to try. ;) I am sure I will get off of the ship with more pounds than I will go on with.
 
You can only book the rainforest on board and you can buy a pass for the week or a daily pass. Yes, you can add it to a spa service and I usually can talk them into giving it to me free after a massage. I do advise you to try it once before you pay for unlimited weeklong pass. Since I have teens, my demands as a mother are more like "leave me alone" rather than "come and get me."
The beepers from the clubs, however, do work inside the rainforest room. I am sure it is just when you lay back on the warm, tiled lounge chairs:laughing:

Maybe I'll try the toning...I do have to tone more anyways so maybe that will help...

:lmao: 8 years ago...I lost 30 pounds in 6 months...but then gained 75 pounds in 2 years:scared1:

This time when I started to loose my weight I said no "dieting"...just starting eating better and exercising...it's taken 6 years and I have no plans of ever doing it again!!!!
