Photo of the day:
If you look close you can see Alex peeking through the railing waiting to go down the slide. We might have been breaking the rules a little, he was only 2 1/2, but they let him do it.

party:

Christine, two months from now we'll be on the fireworks cruise!!!! Woo hoo! Can't wait! :jumping1:

I am so excited about the cruise before the cruise:goodvibes I was watching the travel channel yesterday and they showed it on Hidden Disney...it's going to be so cool.

Sorry didn't post over the weekend, parents were still in town.

Kim, I have only seen a few celebrities: Woody Allen, Cindy Crawford, Tiffany Amber Theasen, Cory Feldmen. When you live here you don't really go to the Strip that often especially when there is a hugh event in town so I haven't seen any famous people in a while. Speaking of celebrities...My sister loves Vanilla Ice:confused: . She was here on vacation and saw him in the lobby of the Luxor. She wanted her picture taken with him so bad so she asked my brother to ask him, he said yes and she did...Yeah it wasn't Vanilla Ice...just some guy:rotfl2: My brother told her two days later:headache:. My sister did party with Vince Vaughn at Mandalay Bay. She said he was really nice and yes it was really him:rotfl:

Ok, well vacation prep has offically began for me too. I have stopped shaving in prep for a really good waxing:scared: . I have my waxing appointment for the Wednesday before I leave. I have also scheduled all my mani and pedi appointments up until the cruise and DH and I have an appointment on Saturday to discuss the details of our trip and I have most of our spending money saved up. I am getting so excited:woohoo: I will work on my final packing list this week so I make sure I don't pack up any of my summer clothes away when I do the summer to winter change of my closet.

The weather has been really nice here. The normal high for this time of you is still 93 but it's been in the 80's  just perfect.

CHRISTINE!!!! I thought you had abandoned us!!! Don't ever ever ever go away for so long again!!! Hey, just for sh*** and giggles, why don't you post one of your "special" pics of Joe to make our day?? :lmao:

Ooo ... good idea ... Gotta get on that.

I can hear Sean Preston and Jayden James crying for mommy somewhere ...
I know I can hear them too......where's the D**n nanny? Give those boys some Benadryl and mommy so valium

It IS hard to keep up with everyone! Bill, not much of a party animal anymore but Skylar told me yesterday, and I quote, "How old are you?" referring to the fact that I love High School Musical and know most of the moves! (with arms anyways). Shhhh probably shouldn't have told anyone that!

Michelle and Family welcome to the Dis Family of Nanaheads! There is myself, Dawn, Skylar and Christian who will both be 11 on the cruise.
Here we are with our NANAhead shirts on...

Kathy, Love the picture of St. John beach. AAhhhh, I can feel the blood pressure lower as I look at that blue water!

Hey, can we talk tips for a minute. Kathy brought up the tips for the baggage guys and I haven't seen an answer. I know the CL book says to tip them $1 -2/bag but nothing about their wage. How do you guys tip and I realize it depends on service but in general. The other cruise I have been on automatically added tipping. The CL book again says $25 a person for Dining Room Server; $18 for Asst. DR Server; $6.50 for DR Head Server; and $25 for Host/Hostess. I'd like to get envelopes ready before we leave because my understanding is this is with cash if you want to hand it to them. I also saw mentioned to bring an envelope of $1 bills for food service delivery tipping.

I think that I've bought the last of what we will need to bring on the cruise. Bought Christian his dress shoes yesterday. He came home and put on his dress clothes...the tie and everything. He's growing up. :sad2: Enjoy your little ones while you can!

The temperature is suppose to break a record here today. 85 - 88 degrees! Everyone's sinuses are going crazy with this ping pong ball weather!

Have a great Monday! Will check in this evening. Oh, and Greg, it was nice to hear from you!

Oh by the way, I thought I would stick a couple pictures of the CL Ceremony at EPCOT

Oh, tell me about the sinuses. VB is terrible!!!!!!!!! No problems yet this fall.... I forgot to look at the PP for the info on the porter wages. Tip scales are great and everyone deserves something, but I'm still a firm believer in EARNING tips. Some porters are great..........they move you up the line, get you where you need to be, they really work it and their worth their weight in gold. We (not to mention our luggage) almost didn't make our flight coming out of Orlando earlier this month. If hadn't been for a teriffic employee we would never have gotten on the plane in time. He was given a HUGE tip.

The back side of Joey or should I say the lack there of...gosh he really is going to kill me :rotfl2:.

Okie....we're all sending good wishes for your family. Its hard to have happy thoughts about a trip and worry about your parents at the same time. We're hoping things keep getting better for ya...

see everyone later....

Bill...this board and thinking about the trip is the only thing that is keeping me sane.....wait...insane people are keeping me sane:confused: mmmm that don't seem right does it????:lmao:

Dawn,
I always have my tip money in exact amount for each person for the suggested amount. I out it in an envelope with paper clip on each persons money with their name on it, host, server etc... I put them in the safe when we get in our room.
then on thursday evening when they deliver the envelopes to our room I put the money in them, put them in the safe until the last nights dinner when you traditionally hand the envelope to each person in person after dinner.

If I want to tip more or less I adjust my cash just before giving it to them.

You can also just go to guest services and ask them to add the tip to your on board account. you can specify the amount for each person. Then ask for a receipt to put in the envelopes for when you hand them to the people.

some people who have it added to their account dont bother with envelopes and just tell them it was added on. But I think it is proper to hand it to them and thank them for their service. I would feel weird if everyone around me was handing out envelopes and thanking them and I didnt.

Of course a few just dont go to dinner the last night so they can skip the tip and not have to face their wait staff. I have seen that quite a few times. that is so wrong!!!

Yes I would also recommend bringing a few ones to stash in a drawer so if you or the boys call room service you will have a dollar or two to tip them.

Plus many of the merchants on the islands dont have much change, especially if you shop in the morning, so bring smaller bills for shopping. I have seen people NOT be able to buy something because they had a big bill and the merchant didnt have change.

Many shops will take credit cards, but will request a minimum purchase to do it. One tip to make things easier if your going to use a credit card is to call your cc company before you cruise and tell them that you are going to be using the card on the islands.
If you dont tell them, ,many wont ok the purchase until they get a call on it and then you have to ID yourselves through passwords or maiden names and such before they will ok your purchase. I have seen this take 30 minutes or more and heard a lot of people talking about this on past cruises where they just didnt think of telling the company they were traveling out of the country . What a pain!!

Hope that did clear up your tip questions, you did have the right idea of how it worked

My DH has the same problem. Of course mine makes up for the both of us:rotfl2:

Okie-Hang in there. Do you hear the "insane" people inside your head? Every once in awhile, I can hear them too...........they haunt me:eek:

I really should be working...........
